From the Ground to the Sky

This incident took place in May or April this year when I went to Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh state located in the north of India to volunteer for a trail running event. I stayed here for about a week and explored this place famous as bir-biling. Actually, I have also lived here between 2016-2020, so this place feels like home to me.

One morning, after having breakfast, I went and sat at the paragliding landing site from where I was watching some people flying in the air, some landing on the ground, and some paragliding trainings. From here I was also able to see the Dhauladhar mountain range, but due to the strong sunlight, I could only see gliders from where I sat.

Most of the people were learning paragliding, while doing ground training, some were getting scolded by their instructors and some were getting praise. Once I also sat in a paraglider after which I decided that I will not make this mistake again and since then I have not sat in this kite again.

Bir is very famous not only for paragliding but also for hiking, temples, forests and Buddhist monasteries. We can also go to Manali by hiking from here and can also see Mani Mahesh Kailash by standing at Jalsu Pass. So this was a small blog on paragliding, I hope you liked it.
