Last Gameweek (if you can remember that far back) was a fairly high scoring affair helped no doubt by the exploits of the big 2 captain picks Haaland and Salah delivering once again.

At the top of Division 1, @shamzy stretched his lead out to 6 points with yet another win against top half opposition. Meanwhile the bottom 3 going into GW12 all won their fixtures to leave the lower half of the league incredibly congested with just 3 points separating the final 8 places.

In Division 2, @tengolotodo scored a massive win over @happyboy1 knocking the later off top spot and ensuring that the former moves to within touching distance of the top 5. Again, the table remains very congested with just 6 points separating the top 11 teams who are all vying for promotion.

This week sees City and Liverpool go head to head in the early Saturday kick-off while the likes of Arsenal face a tough trip to West London against derby day specialists Brentford, Chelsea who have scored 8 times in their last 2 games travel to Newcastle, Spurs entertain Villa and United travel to an Everton side looking to respond to their 10 point deduction. All in all, it suggests that this is going to be a difficult week to extract major points from a lot of the popular picks.

That 10 point deduction to Everton has certainly left the bottom of the table looking more interesting than it had done and it's noticable that all 3 newly promoted teams play at home this week in games that they must surely be looking to take points from including a crunch match for Sheffield United who host fellow strugglers Bournemouth.

GW13 Fixtures

Division 1

@nonsowrites v @b0s

Screen Shot 2023-11-22 at 06.10.59.png

Both these teams seem to have forgotten how to win a head to head fixture! From flying high in the early part of the season, their respective slums in form see them sitting squarely in mid-table and with those below beginning to rack up the wins then a victory in this match is essential.

The differentials (as tends to be the case in any head to head against Nonz FC) are considerable. However, Nonz FC face something of an injury crisis with 2 players already ruled out and question marks over the fitness of 4 others.

Legion FC's decision to invest heavily in attacking areas while going for lesser players at the back might pay off in a game week where so many of the top sides play each other with the likes of Anderson and Kilman just as likely to record clean sheet bonuses as Saliba and Gvardiol.

@borran v @mckane

Screen Shot 2023-11-22 at 06.22.58.png

Hizeheadz made it back to back wins to jump above today's opponents and clear of the relegation zone. That victory in GW12 came despite the fact that they left Tsimikas on the bench in what could otherwise have been a stellar game week.

The main differences between the sides come at the back where again it might be a case of the likes of Guehi and Branthwaite who both face less than potent attacks turning out to be prudent picks.

FC McKane will be banking on Spurs rediscovering their form at home to Villa with both Son and Sarr their only differentials in midfield. Both teams have exactly the same line up in attack.

@teofilex11 v @ipalibo

Screen Shot 2023-11-22 at 06.34.31.png

Likodra FC's winning streak came to an end when they gambled on Martinelli as captain in GW12, a move that back fired in the face of Haaland and Salah's success. Meanwhile Whyte FC continue their unbeaten run of 4 matches and moved up to 4th place in the league.

Again, this looks like a match which will largely be decided in defence where you'd have to say that Likodra FC have players who are more likely to add points in attack.

In more attacking areas it is Son v Martinelli with the Spurs captain having 7 goal involvements in 7 previous matches against Villa potentially holding an edge. Upfront Calvert-Lewin will hope to continue his form in a massive game for the club at home to United while Haaland is not 100% fit but will surely start against Liverpool in what should be a great encounter.

@blockchainfpl v @pappyelblanco

BlockchainFPL's 4 game winning streak came to and end last week while Creekside FC got a much needed victory in GW12 to reestablish their hopes at the top of the league.

As the season continues, player form emerges and a spate of injuries shrink the pool of likely candidates to select from, it increasingly looks like the main differentials for most of our head to heads are going to be in defence. In that regard, BlockchainFPL will be wondering whether Tsimikas will be awarded the left back role again in Liverpool's game against City or whether Klopp will look for a more defensive option as he did during their most recent away game at Luton.

In midfield, Saka and Mbeumo go head to head against each other which could cause an issue for Blockchain FPL while the emergence of Cole Palmer as Chelsea's first choice penalty taker makes him an attractive buy at that price.

Upfront, Creekside certainly hold the advantage with 2 City forwards given that Liverpool haven't kept a clean sheet away from home all season.

@vickoly v @gvkanten

Screen Shot 2023-11-23 at 06.24.46.png

Both sides suffered defeats in GW12 and while Augment FC find themselves 10 places higher in the league, Hungry Lions can point to the fact that their total points haul is 48 more than their opponents to date meaning that this should be a tight contest.

Augment continue to go with plenty of big name defenders and goalkeepers at top clubs but it might just be that the likes of Leno, Areola and Emerson prove the more likely to claim clean sheets during this tough round of games.

Upfront could either team take a chance on their 3rd choice striker finding points this week? Brighton travel to Notts Forest desperate for a win while Sheffield United host Bournemouth in a crucial game at the bottom of the league. Ferguson and Archer could be important picks.

@amirtheawesome1 v @martinlazizi

Screen Shot 2023-11-23 at 06.42.50.png

The Amirians suffered a miserable GW12 recording just 50 points, well short of the 64 point average and slumping to their 3rd straight defeat to sit 18th in the league. With injuries to the likes of Maddison and Neto not to mention several players who are doubtful for GW13, is it time for a major shake up of the squad even at the sacrifice of points?

Meanwhile Lazz moved to 2nd in the league and they have outscored their opponents in the last 3 GWs suggesting they should be favourites to keep up the pressure on top spot.

Both sides have got some decent options in defence with the games involving West Ham, Palace, Luton and United not likely to be high-scoring affairs. Meanwhile the Amirians will be hoping that Son can rediscover his scoring form after blanking in the last 2. Cole Palmer meanwhile has goal involvements in 5 of his last 6 EPL appearances.

@yagman01 v @elmose

Screen Shot 2023-11-23 at 07.00.10.png

Yagman FC managed to scrape a win from GW12 despite their decision to captain Mitoma! It should be noted that they also made no transfers last week so they have 2 free changes up their sleeves for this weekend and they might need them based on recent performances.

By contrast Espada Numero Uno were one of several teams towards the bottom of the league who had impressive points hauls last week and will be looking to continue their form here. They've comfortably outscored their high flying opponents over the last 3 gameweeks.

There's not much to choose between the 2 sides and when you consider that they both have a first choice Palace centre back in their side who are more than likely to cancel each other out, the differences become even fewer.

Yagman FC have kept faith with Marcus Rashford despite the fact that he's gone 8 GWs without a goal involvement. In the same period, Bowen and Diaby have notched 5 and 6 goal involvements respectively. Similarly the ability of Nketiah to find the net on his travels and against higher quality opposition has to be questioned. His 5 goals this season have all come at home against sides in the bottom 3rd of the table.

@thoth442 v @deniskj

Screen Shot 2023-11-23 at 07.32.57.png

This match sees last year's cup winners take on last season's league winners and while things haven't gone quite as smoothly this time around there are signs that I Feel Qatari are beginning to make their move up the league with back to back wins.

The serious differentials come at the back with only Matty Cash appearing in both squads. I Feel Qatari look likely to be banking on a Palace clean sheet away at Luton but there are question marks over the possible involvment of flying left backs Udogie and Tsimikas this weekend. Meanwhile, Lascelles looks likely to continue to deputise for Sven Botman after his return date was pushed back.

In forward areas only Gordon and Archer enjoy home advantage. Thoth442FC will be hoping that Saka's form for England last week was mearly a result of the fact that the fixtures were dead rubbers. The Arsenal winger hasn't scored in his last 5 EPL games though.

@shamzy v @belemo

Screen Shot 2023-11-24 at 06.06.49.png

The Shamzy FC train steams on with a 6 point gap having opened up at the top of the league with no other side able to match this squads consistency week in week out. The next team to have a try at derailing the run away leaders is Inzanagi FC but it looks to be a tough call when you consider that their opponents today have outscored them in their last 5 GWs.

Inzanagi FC can point to the fact that they used their wildcard last week to attempt to give them an advantage but it looks like the cold of the UK winter is getting to @belemo who opted to bring in 2 Sheffield United defenders, an injured high price Brighton defender and 2 United midfielders with the most powerful chip in the game.

That being said, it's not likely to be a high-scoring game week so a bit of luck and 1 or 2 of those picks coming off could be enough to cause a shock. However, the stats speak for themselves and of the attacking differentials, Inzanagi FC's players have added just 7 goal involvements in the last 5 GWs compared to the 19 that Shamzy FC's differentials have managed!

It's a bottom of the table clash and while it's probably too early in the season to start using the term '6-pointer' it is a significant game given how congested the bottom of the league is getting. A win for either of these teams could move them out of the relegation places depending on how other results go.

Suffragette City's recent results show that it's been a case of feast or famine over the last few GWs outscoring their opponents today by huge margins in GW12 & GW10. However, Content Creators have been more consistent in delivering 40 - 50 point hauls and in a tough looking round of fixtures that could well be enough to secure victory again.

Both sides have selection dilemmas coming into the game with Content Creators having just 3 available defenders and one of those in Gusto who is unlikely to start now that Reece James has returned. The good news is they do have a transfer carried over from last week which could prove very useful in reshuffling the team. Suffragette City meanwhile have their bench midfield and striker options unavailable which would force them to play 4 defenders unless they make a change...
