Jagad sepakbola eropa hari ini dibuat geger. Pasalnya telah lahir lagi satu kompetensi resmi di benua biru tersebut yang disebut Liga Super Eropa. Real Madrid disebut sebagai salah satu pendirinya. Presiden Real Madrid Florentino Perez disebut sebagai salah satu orang yang sangat bertanggung jawab sekaligus sebagai ditunjuk sebagai ketua pertamanya

Selain Madrid ada dua belas klub besar lainnya yang bergabung danmenyatakan setuju untuk membentuk kompetensi yang akan digelar ditengah pekan setiap bulannya. Yang pasti ke 12 klub tersebut dianggap sebagai klub pendiri yakni Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, dan Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea dan Barcelona. Hanya diperlukan tiga klub lagi untuk memulai kompetisi tersebut. Apakah ini sebagai tandingan Liga Champions entahlah.

Pendiri liga super eropa tersebut akan melakukan diskusi dengan UEFA dan FIFA untuk bekerja sama dalam kemitraan guna memberikan hasil terbaik untuk Liga baru dan sepak bola secara keseluruhan. Biarpun tujuannya baik tetapi pembentukan Liga Super Eropa menimbulkan kontroversi di Eropa. Kita lihat apakah benar akan terwujud.
