Am I a Computer Hacker?

Earlier this month I submitted a string of letters and numbers to my domain registrar's website. This string of alphanumeric characters was a "promo code". It allowed me to get a discount so I didn't pay full price,

Should I be worried that Governor Newsom will charge me with "computer hacking"? I found the promo code using an internet search engine. Was that wrong? The People's Republic of California is crazier than "The Show-Me State" of Missouri and Missouri's governor is going after a reporter who was shown HTML code.... Oh, no! When I edit my Actifit posts I see the HTML! I am in big trouble! At best I can never go to missouri.
