The Open-Air Museum of Lithuania (part 1)

Today our family took a break from our daily routine :) and we visited this cool museum!

I was very pleasantly surprised how amazing it was!:) In this post I will share with you only the exterior pictures. We will peek inside in the upcoming 3 or 4 posts, so stay tuned ;)

We spent more than 4 hours there and managed to see only about half of the exposition :)

This is a place where horses lived :) I'd like a reed roof like that for my house too :)

Vegetable oil was produced in this building.

I realy enjoyed walking between these places on these small roads :)

If you like active leisure during which you can learn something, this place is perfect for you!

A water well and low tech way to get it easily from very deep :)

I was very surprised that we could get inside of this windmill! Inside pictures in upcoming posts! ;)

I like this fence! And prolly easier to implement than that heavy one :)

This museum is one of the largest ethnographic open-air museums in Europe that stretches across the area of 195 ha.

The museum was established on the picturesque shores of Kaunas Lagoon in Rumšiškės in 1966. The exhibitions at the museum are intended to introduce the ethnographic regions of Lithuania, i.e. Dzūkija (Dainava), Aukštaitija (Highlands), Suvalkija (Sudovia), Žemaitija (Samogitia) and Lithuania Minor, as they looked at the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 20th century.
