War Machine is a satirical war drama that blends humor with a sharp critique of modern military strategy. Directed by David Michôd, the film stars Brad Pitt as General Glen McMahon, a character loosely inspired by real life U.S. General Stanley McChrystal. Pitt delivers an exaggerated yet engaging performance, capturing the confidence and contradictions of military leadership.
The movie mixes absurd comedy with serious commentary on the war in Afghanistan, highlighting the disconnect between political ambition and on ground realities. While some viewers may find the tone uneven, the film’s bold approach keeps it thought provoking.
War Machine stands out for its unique storytelling and strong acting, even if it's pacing occasionally drags. It’s best suited for viewers who enjoy political stuffs with a touch of dark humor. Although the way I feel about this movie not everyone fells that way, I started watching this movie on a friend on mine phone and when it got interesting his battery died, that was weeks ago but yesterday I decided to finish it. The story line for me is really good like really nice but the way things turned out to be in the movie made it look too fictional, in the first place I thought 81(Alan Ritchson) would turn out to be a war machine which means and unstoppable soldier I never knew the war an actual machine, at some point i noticed in the movie no one did well at any stage if 81(Alan Ritchson) wasnt involved or he does everything himself like killing the machine. A machine no one could stop, not even him and his mates could stop it but at the end he single handedly kills it which feel unrealistic for me but anyways i enjoyed watch the movie and if you've not watched it at this time, do well to check it out, goodnight 😊.
