Eliminatorias sudamericanas rumbo al Mundial de Fútbol Catar 2022, 11a fecha.

No cambiaron demasiado arriba de la tabla las cosas en esta nueva fecha de las eliminatorias sudamericanas rumbo a Catar 2022 salvo por el hecho que Venezuela hasta promediar la mitad de la segunda etapa estuvo a punto de dar la gran sorpresa.

Ecuador goleó a Bolivia por 3 a 0 y desplazó a Uruguay del tercer lugar en la tabla, mientras que cafeteros y charrúas se repartieron aciertos y errores en un empate sin goles y ambos siguen dentro del lote de clasificados, aunque Colombia sigue en zona de repechaje.

Perú le dió el golpe de gracia a un Chile desconocido derrotándolo por 2 a 0 y recuperando de esta manera algunas esperanzas.

El equipo de Gareca se sitúa con doce puntos al margen de la zona clasificatoria y a uno de Paraguay que encabeza el lote de los equipos que al momento están afuera del mundial, a dos puntos de Colombia.

La esperanza sigue sigue viva en el combinado inca y el superclásico del Pacífico era vital en este aspecto.

Perú venció 2-0 a Chile y sumó vitales puntos en sus esperanzas de clasificar al Mundial de Catar 2022.

Tuvo que sufrir bastante para llegar al empate en el minuto 71'. La debacle final venezolana fue obra del cansancio y del efecto psicológico que significa en cualquier equipo de fútbol perder el objetivo por el cual se ha luchado tan denodadamente.

Lo de Venezuela no fue un intento de clasificar aunque las chances matemáticas lo sostenga. Ultimo en la tabla trató de demostrar que desde el esfuerzo y el talento de algunos jugadores podía jugar de igual a igual y aún ganarle a los equipos más encumbrados del continente. Y casi lo logra. Le faltó solo tiempo. Resistir todavía por veinte minutos.

El gol generado en una buena acción de su mejor jugador, Yeferson Soteldo quien lanzó un centro preciso desde la derecha que encontró la cabeza de Eric Ramírez ante una defensa brasileña sorprendida, para abrir el marcador.

La ausencia de Neymar se hizo sentir en Brasil y la posesión del balón no significó generar un gran número de oportunidades de gol.

Incluso Soteldo con sus piques cortos, enganches, gambetas y cambios de ritmo pudo haber ampliado el marcador y eso hubiera sido catastrófico para las esperanzas brasileñas.

Berizzo, el DT de Paraguay había predispuesto una estrategia conservadora para el partido contra Argentina: dejarle la posesión del balón y agruparse en los últimos treinta metros para salir de contraataque.

De María no lograba ser el jugador clave que normalmente es, ya que Paraguay achicaba mucho los espacios, impidiéndole de aprovechar su velocidad y gambeta y los volantes (Lo Celso y De Paul) tampoco lograban desengancharse para ser una alternativa de ataque.

El calor sumado a la alta humedad reinante hizo que después de la primer hora de juego los argentinos disminuyeran la intensidad de su juego y el partido se equilibrara.

En el segundo tiempo Berizzo hizo retrasar los delanteros paraguayos especialmente Romero aún más para darle una mano a la defensa y colaborar com Morel, Alderete y Rojas formando un bloque compacto y unido que Argentina nunca pudo superar del todo para poder llegar con posibilidades a un muy seguro arquero Silva.

Los cambios realizados en Paraguay le dieron mayor vitalidad y a punto estuvo en los minutos finales de quedarse con la victoria si no hubiera sido por dos estupendas atajadas del arquero Martínez y por la falta de precisión en el remate final de los delanteros guaraníes recién ingresados, especialmente González.

Con este resultado Argentina aunque más distanciado de Brasil sigue segundo mientras Paraguay queda a la expectativa encabezando el lote de los que, por ahora, están afuera del Mundial.

Es evidente que la prerrogativa del elenco guaraní era no perder mientras que para Argentina un empate como visitante tampoco tenía un mal sabor visto las circunstancias.

Los restantes resultados muestran un Ecuador en ascenso y la caída (casi definitiva) de Chile.

Los esfuerzos de Marcelo Moreno Martins, el delantero boliviano, no econtraron eco en sus compañeros y las jugadas de Bolivia se terminaban diluyendo en la intrascendencia de su juego.

Uruguay no pudo superar a Colombia y no solo tampoco pudo acercarse a Argentina sino que se vio superado por Ecuador, aunque todavía está dentro de los clasificados. Y Colombia con el empate sigue en zona de repechaje para jugarse el pasaje de ida a Catar con el representante de Oceanía.

El partido mostró dos técnicas bien definidas: uruguay tratando de asegurarse la posesión del baló y atacar sin descuidarse. Y Colombia defendiéndose y apostando solo al contragolpe.

Suárez fue siempre lo más peligroso en los avances uruguayos (incluso el VAR le anuló un gol por una posición adelantada muy dudosa) y fue reemplazado -por un corte en la rodilla que le provocó Yerry Mina- por Edison Cavani que no gravitó mayormente en el desarrollo del encuentro.

De la Cruz que jugó por el lesionado de Arrascaeta tampoco le pudo dar profundidad al ataque uruguayo que agregó nuevos lesionados a la lista que ya tiene. esta vez se sumó Giménez.

Colombia con nuevos cambios trató de aprovechar el cansancio de los jugadores locales y a punto estuvo de ganar el partido si Muslera no le hubiera tapado el remate final a Zapata.
