Bayern Munich Downfall, Dortmund With A Chance To Win The League, And Union Berlin Dreams Of Playing In The Champion League
Interesting things are happening in the Bundesliga this season and we might just get to see a new face lifting the Bundesliga trophy at the end of the season. Bayern Munich is not looking good and I think their downfall might just have begun. The Bayern Munich board sacked Julian Nagelsmann this month and I still don't get why they sent him off because Nagelsmann has been doing a great job this season with Bayern Munich.
In the Champions League group stage, Bayern Munich did not lose a match in a group that consisted of Inter Milan( who are in the semi-finals), Barcelona, and Viktoria Plzen. Bayern Munich beat both Inter Milan and Barcelona home and away in the group stage match, both teams have won the UCL Barcelona won 5 and Inter Milan won 3 times in the history of the UCL.
Bayern Munich also knocked out PSG in the round of sixteen beating the French side 4-1 on aggregate. In the Bundesliga Liga, they got their first place before the world cup break and sent underdogs Union Berlin back to fighting for a place in the top four and also excelling in other domestic competitions. But the board seems to have had an issue with Julian Nagelsmann and decided to bring in Thomas Tuchel to replace him and now look at how it has turned out for the German club.
Since Thomas Tuchel's arrival at Bayern Munich, the German club was knocked out of the quarterfinals by Manchester City, knocked off domestic competition, and lost their place at the top of the table which is currently held by Dortmund who are leading with just a point. Union Berlin is on Bayern Munich's toes with four points away from taking the second spot on the Bundesliga table.
It was a bad call for the board to make that decision and getting Tuchel in when the season is close to an end was not the right thing to do, when a new manager comes in he brings his ideals and tactics which will take the squad a little bit of time to get used to and that is what is happening currently at Bayern Munich.
This is a golden opportunity for Dortmund, they need to ravish this opportunity and push hard to win the title and end Bayern Munich's 14 years of dominance in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin also can take this opportunity to since they are five points away from Dortmund, they can make it possible and win their first-ever Bundesliga title.
It is going to be a crazy end in the Bundesliga this season, with just five games left no one knows who is going to lift the trophy at the end of the season. I am still rooting for Union Berlin since they are my favorite this season in the Bundesliga. If they don't win the league then they surely must finish in the top four to play in the champions league next season, either way, I look forward to seeing how they finish at the end of the season.
