The Champions League defending champions Chelsea hosted Madrid last night for their Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid who are no strangers when it comes to the History of winning the UCL. Real Madrid, who made it to the quarter-finals after knocking out super team PSG from the round of sixteen, was up against the Blues last night.

The Blues had also knocked out Madrid last season in the semifinals, beating Madrid 3-1 on aggregate. There was no doubt Real Madrid took last night's game personally and looked forward to securing a win at home.

Vinicius and Benzema were a constant threat to Chelsea's defence. In the early 10th minute Benzema and Vinicius laid a counterattack. Benzema played an amazing backheel pass to Valverde who laid out another pass to Vinicius Jnr as he took a strong shot for goal but the ball hit the crossbar denying Real Madrid an early lead.

Reece James from Chelsea also had an effort on goal from a free-kick but the keeper kept the ball out. The early exchanges were good and showed it was going to be an interesting match. The first goal was scored in the 21st minute. Benzema and Vinicius with a one-two pass, then Benzema cut the Chelsea defence open with a through ball to Vinicius Jnr, the Brazilian winger made a great cross into the open box as Benzema headed the ball into the goalpost. It was a nice team play from both players.

The second goal was scored four minutes later. Luka Modric played a cross into the box as Benzema again headed the ball into the top corner of the goalpost and scored his second of the night. A Beautiful assist from Luka Modric to set up Benzema for that goal.

Chelsea gave their response in the 40th minute. Jorginho made a cross into the box and his teammate Kai Havertz headed the ball into the goalpost beating the former Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois as he was unable to keep the ball out.

An awful start to the second half for Chelsea as they conceded another goal from a costly mistake from Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy, His weak pass to his teammate got intercepted by Benzema who made no mistake and took a shot into the goalpost and scored his third goal of the night. Ironically it is the same as PSG when he scored the first goal which turned out to be an amazing comeback for Real Madrid.

Throughout the remaining minutes of the match, Chelsea could not get another goal, All Chelsea can do now is to get their head straight before next week or they will get knocked out of the competition. So, guys that will be all for now. Barcelona will be playing the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Frankfurt this evening, looking forward to the match.

Ancelotti, with his team's progress, led his team with excellent substitutions... unlike Tuchel, who is stubborn in creating a weak point for him by not relying on Lukaku from the beginning ....

Their performance against Brentford was bad, and I wasn't expecting this performance against Madrid they already made this complicated because I am sure Madrid won't let their guard down at home.

It just seems like Benzema is currently at his prime and that's just so lovely. For me, it's the success of the relationship between Benzema and Vinicius that I so happy to see at all times.
