The Uefa Champions League and the Europa League played their last group stage matches this week, the list of the clubs from Champions League headed to the Europa League play-offs has already been confirmed.

In group A Ajax finished third of the table with three points after they beat Rangers 3-1 on Tuesday night, the Dutch team did not have a good run but could change that in the Europa League next year.

In group B Bayer Leverkusen finished third after they played a draw against Club Brugge who are already through to the round of sixteen. Although Leverkusen had the same points with Atletico Madrid, they managed to take the third position because they conceded less goals than Atletico Madrid. For the first time this season, Atletico wouldn't be playing in any European competition.

In group C Barcelona's fate was already sealed last week, the Spanish giant will be playing in the Europa League this season, and their likely opponent in the playoffs might just be Manchester United, it's still not confirmed yet until the 7th of this month. Looking forward to see Barcelona journey in the Europa League although that is not were the club belongs🥲.

Group D was the controversial group of the week, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting CP, Eintracht Frankfurt and Marseille all had 1 point separating each other and Sporting were second on the table but things changed for them on Tuesday night. Eintracht Frankfurt came from behind from a one goal lead held by. Sporting CP in the second half scored two goals which won them the match. Sporting CP lost their Champions League spot and are headed to the Europa League playoffs.

In Group E FC Salzburg got lucky even though they lost to AC Milan 4-0 as Chelsea beat Dinamo Zagreb two goals to one on Wednesday night. FC Salzburg finished on the third spot with six points in the group which earned them a place in the Europa League and Dinamo Zagreb finished bottom of the table which automatically sent them out of European football.

In Group F Shakhtar Donetsk finished third on the table with six points, they gave their best but it was not enough to make the round of 16th. Real Madrid and RB Leipzig are through to the round of sixteen, while Celtic are bottom of the table and are out of European football this season.

In Group G Sevilla finished third on the group with 5 points and are headed to the Europa League, the Spanish giants are not having a good season as they are on the 18th spot in Laliga Santander table. Manchester City and Dortmund have made it into the round of sixteen and FC Copenhagen are out of European football.

In Group H which is the final group saw the former might Juventus confirmed their third place spot in the group which automatically sends them to the Europa League, they got lucky Maccabi Haifa lost six goals to one which made them concede more goals because both teams were leveled in points.

The Europa League might just have the same spotlight with the UCL next year because of the big clubs coming into the competition. The draws will be held next week for the round of 32, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by.

The play off is adding a nice ring to this Europa League because those who finished second in the group would be paired with those who got eliminated from the Champions League. Too bad United couldn't get a second goal against Real Sociedad.

I would like to see Barcelona and Manchester United play in the playoffs, both teams show great potential in recovery this season,
it would be nice to see both teams battle it out on the pitch.
