FC Barcelona Transfer News

The transfer window has been going on since the beginning of the year, we have witnessed some exciting transfers and it seems like the EPL is the biggest buyer in the transfer window this year, Chelsea has been the face of the transfer market, their new owner Todd Boehly seems to have a lot of cash to spend in the market, we all know how Chelsea has lost form since the new season began and the new owner believes the squad needs a new makeover and has given some players time to prove themselves or get ready to leave the club at the end of the season.

Chelsea's transfer journey has been great, they even hijacked Arsenal target Mudryk which Chelsea paid 100 million to seal the deal for the Ukrainian player. I don't think he should be up to that amount because he will probably be under pressure to give an outstanding performance because of his price tag, just take a look at Jack Grealish who was bought for 100 million, he confessed he was scared in his first training session in Manchester City while he was juggling the ball and did want to make a mistake so his teammate won't say a 100 million player can't even juggle a ball, so there was a lot of pressure on him to deliver a good performance.

Elsewhere in the Spanish League FC Barcelona has not been active in the transfer market because the management seems satisfied with their players and Xavi has not complained about adding more players to the squad. However, the Barcelona board is looking to offload some players this transfer window as they feel they have a lot of players and due to the financial crisis, they need to get rid of some paychecks.

Memphis Depay is the first player to leave Barcelona in the transfer window, the transfer was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano yesterday that Atletico Madrid has agreed to pay the sum of 3/4 million euros for Memphis. Before Barcelona agreed to the deal they wanted cash and a player from Atletico Madrid Yannick Carrasco to be part of the deal but Atletico declined and only was willing to pay the sum of 2/3 million for Memphis.

The deal was concluded quickly because Memphis wanted the move and only wanted to be sold to Atletico Madrid, when Xavi was asked about Memphis' move he said he was surprised and did not know Memphis wanted to leave because he had a good relationship with him and the squad and was also counting on him for the project but I feel that is a lie from Xavi, it was obvious he did not need Memphis in his project because Memphis has not been getting much playing time, but can't blame Xavi when you have a player like Lewandoski who is giving back to back masterclass why would you put him on the bench.

I like Memphis and I don't want him to leave but he needs playing time which he will get in Atletico. I wish him the best of luck in his new journey. Another piece of news about Barcelona is that Arsenal is interested in signing Ferran Torres and Raphinha from Barcelona, but both players said they are happy at Barcelona and want to stay at the club. If I were to choose who should leave between those two I would prefer Ferran Torres. The guy has not been good this season in Barcelona but that depends on the board deciding if they want to sell either of the players.

So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by, and have a great afternoon.

I for one feel like Barca have not been fair to Memphis Depay. When they signed him he was doing quite well and then they went to sign Auba. Auba too did well but then since there was Lewandowski they abandoned these two guys and went for him.

I don’t blame him for wanting to leave, he can’t have all this talent and be expected to warm the bench.
