FC Barcelona Vs Inter Milan( Champions League Match Recap)

Source

Barcelona faced Inter Milan on Wednesday night in the Uefa Champions League. The match was important to Barcelona so they could have a chance at qualifying for the round of sixteen in the Champions League. Inter Milan won their first meeting last week at home by a goal, Inter Milan did not deserve those three points because Barcelona was robbed, the referee denied a clear penalty, and also disallowed Pedri's goal.

On Wednesday night I had high hopes Barcelona was going to trash Inter Milan at Camp Nou but that didn't happen. Barcelona opened the scoreline in the 40th minute, Sergi Roberto played a low cross into Inter Milan's box as Dembele made a tap-in with his left foot into the goalpost.

Inter Milan equalized in the 50th minute of the second half, Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan played a cross into Barcelona's box and Nicolo Barella received the ball and scored with his left foot. Inter Milan got their lead in the 63rd minute, Hakan Calhanoglu provided the assist which led Lautaro Martinez to score the second goal for Inter Milan.

Barcelona leveled the scoreline in the 82nd minute from a defensive error made by Stefan de Vrij, Lewandoski was quick to react to the loose ball and made a powerful shot into the goalpost. I thought Barcelona could still have a chance to win the match but Inter Milan struck again 7 minutes later from a counter-attack led by Lautaro Martinez, the Argentina International played a through ball to Robin Gosens who made no mistake and played a shot into the goalpost.

Inter Milan thought they had won the match, but 3 minutes later Lewandoski headed a cross from Eric Garcia into the goalpost and the scoreline was leveled once again. Unfortunately, the game failed to produce a winner, Barcelona is heading to the Europa League the only way they can qualify for the round of sixteen is if Viktoria Plzen can draw or win against Inter Milan and Barcelona has to beat Bayern Munich which, to be honest as a Barcelona fan seems impossible.

I blame Xavi for this draw, he should have started Frank Kessie and De Jong in the mid-field and Balde on the left back instead of Alonso, Kessie has played against this inter-Milan player during his time at Serie A, he was the best midfielder in the league and also he has the experience, so I don't know why Xavi decided to keep him on the bench and start Gavi.

Frankie De Jong has always proven he is a big game-changer when he was subbed into the match, the game changed so why is Xavi not making him a starter, at this point, the board needs to put pressure on Xavi. The El Clasico is coming up on Sunday, Xavi better do his selection well because Barcelona can't afford to lose that match.

So guys that will be for today, stay tuned to my page for more football content. Thanks for stopping by.

Well, we all have deferent opinions as to what should have happened in the first leg. But it’s gone now so let’s talk about the second leg.

We seem to forget that Inter Milan is not a small club. They can play they just refused to play cause they had a clear gameplan. Why would I risk opening up if I can sit back and counter you easily?

Alonso for Balde is much much better in the champions league. I think Alonso did good. Balde is good but he has not experience. He might have had good games against small teams in laliga but when it comes to champions league Alonso has seen it and he has done it.

I won’t lie, I am glad Barca is heading to the Europa league again😂.
