What a night it was in the semifinals of the Uefa Champions League between Manchester City and Real Madrid. There is no doubt both sides had an amazing run in the competition, especially Real Madrid who seems to have conquered all odds starting from the round of sixteen where they made an incredible comeback against PSG and defeated Chelsea who almost outclassed them in the quarter-finals.

Manchester City on the order hand I think had it easy in the round of sixteen and had a tough time in the quarter-finals finals against Atletico Madrid. The last time both City and Madrid met was in 2020 when Manchester City knocked out Madrid 4-2 on aggregate in the round of sixteen, I am sure Madrid will be looking forward to a payback.

On to the match, City delivered the first blow just two minutes after the sound of the whistles, Riyad Mahrez delivered across into the box setting up De Bruyne who made an incredible header into the goalpost. It didn't take City more than ten minutes before they increased their lead at the 11th minute of the first half, De Bruyne this time made the assist as he set up Gabriel Jesus, he made a smooth finish at the box and gave City their second goal of the match.

Madrid did not stay quiet as they scored their first goal in the 33rd minute, Mendy's cross got through to Benzema, and the French player scored with a volley, although I expected Ederson to easily clear that ball away rather than allowing the ball pass through him into the goalpost. Manchester City got their two goals lead back in the 53rd minute of the second half, Fernandinho who played well as an RB made a cross into the box and found Foden who headed the ball into the goalpost.

Real Madrid again responded two minutes later after Foden's goal, individual performance from Vinicius Jnr who ran with the ball at top speed into the box and then placed the ball into the low corner of the goalpost, the Brazilian does have an incredible speed. Manchester City again scored another goal, this time it was Bernardo Silva who hit the ball with great power as it went into the top corner of the goalpost, it was a nice call by the referee to let him play on after his teammate Zinchenko was fouled.

Madrid got lucky in the 82nd minute, they were awarded a penalty after a City defender made a handball in the box, as usual, Benzema was the one to take the penalty, he did well with no pressure as he chipped the ball into the goalpost and made the scoreline 4-3. The match came to an end and Real Madrid failed to get an equaliser, they still have a chance in the second leg at their home stadium but I doubt Manchester City will let their guard down, it all going down next week.

So guys that will be all for now, thanks once again for taking your time to stop by, cheers.

Real Madrid, with the patience and experience of its players, did not leave the match despite the continuous delay in the level of the result. The decision was made again at the Bernabeu. This is what Ancelotti wanted and he knows his danger Guardiola
