Manchester United's Rollercoaster: Ten Hag's Challenges, Greenwood's Future, and a Bumpy Year-end Reflection

Manchester United ended the year with a loss away from home against Nottingham Forest. The Red Devils who made an impressive comeback during the week against in-form Aston Villa lost their mojo last night against the Forest under the new coaching management of Nuno Espírito Santo who has been impressive as he wins his second match as Nottingham Forest's Head coach. The Portuguese manager was the former head coach of Wolves and he always had a remedy to take down Manchester City even at their best.

Week in and week out when you think wait Manchester United is improving and will do well in the next game then they shattered those hopes and dropped a stinker on the pitch when you do not expect anything from the team then that is when United will turn up and drop a beautiful performance on the pitch, last week victory against Aston Villa is the perfect example of my statement. Ten Hag has gone back to what he knows best, which is talking a lot in press conferences rather than managing his team.

According to Fabrizio Romano, this is what Ten Hag said after the game last night: “The players are not happy but we have to do better. We haven't played with the same team in a row”.
“We had to change again so every time we have to swap our team”.
“That doesn't help or support the routines of the team and it explains why you are so inconsistent”. Source

Like I said in one of my posts about Manchester United weeks back. Ten Hag is not the Messiah of Manchester United and any United fan by now should not be expecting anything big from United this season because they will get disappointed at the end. Ten Hag is the architect of what is going on presently at United and the very first mistake he made was not waiting for Greenwood's allegation to go down before asking the board to purchase Anthony, a 100 million euro signing that has scored only one goal in 33 league games appearance is that not embarrassing enough.

Mason Greenwood would have brought much more impact to the team if he had been on the team. It is not just a fluke because his footballing ability speaks for him and presently he is the best player at Getafe. This guy got Griezmann and Simeone talking about him in the post-match interview. Even with Greenwood's performance at Getafe, there are rumours that he will be sold in the summer transfer window next year and also Barca is rumoured to have a high interest in Greenwood and would see possibilities of bringing the Englishman next summer.

It will be a big mistake if United let Greenwood go but as a Barca fan I welcome the idea and if it's going to be possible without the FFP on the club's tail then Barca should go all out signing Greenwood next summer. If there is any player United should get rid of it should be Martial because I don't see what that lad brings to the team other than getting injured and the latest news now is that Martial is unwell and will be out for some time.

Martial should go to Saudi Arabia where there is no competitive football since he can't keep up in Europe anymore. Ten Hag needs to prepare for the second half of the season because it's going to be a hell of a ride as every team will be giving their very best till the season ends. So guy that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and see you all in the new year.
