PSG Lost At Home To Bayern Munich In The First Leg of The Round Of 16 In The UCL

Source

Last night in the Uefa Champions League round of sixteen, PSG lost at home to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the competition. Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the match in the second half and PSG failed to equalize during the whole 90th minute.

PSG's performance last night was horrible and they were not up to the challenge of securing a win at home. Messi and Mbappe were on the squad list and I was kind of surprised because both players were injured and rumors were that both players will miss the first leg of the champions league fixture.

Messi was in the starting lineup but Mbappe was on the bench, as a precaution by the medical team he was not to play the full 90 minutes because of his recovery process. The first 45 minutes of the match were horrible for PSG, they were poor going front and could not recreate anything decent even with Messi on the field.

The defense was worst, they kept letting Bayern Munich cross the ball into the box and for a second I began to wonder if Sergio Ramos was even a top defender because he was poor at the backline as for Marquinhos I honestly don't know what he was doing at that backline and at this point, he should not be starting for PSG in my books.

PSG failed to get a shot on target in the first half but that was not the case for Bayern Munich as they kept on trying to get a goal at all costs but got denied by Donnarumma PSG goalkeeper who was solid at the post except for the mistake he made in catching Coman shot in the second half.

However, in the second half PSG's attack changed and when Mbappe came in PSG looked more threatening in front of goal. Mbappe got a goal but the VAR canceled it because of an offside. The boys of Paris failed to get an equalizer and the match ended in Bayern Munich's favor as they took a one-goal lead back home, PSG will head to Munich next week to play the second leg of the round of sixteen.

It is going to be a tough match in Munich but there is still a little bit of hope, Mbappe and Messi will be fully fit by next week and the boys of Paris will take the fight to Munich next week. I look forward to seeing how it ends up next week and hope PSG comes out victorious. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Well, I think its easy to blame the backline for how easily they were attacked but for me I think the midfield were to blame. What do you think the backline can do to stop the attack if the midfield allows the ball to get past them so easily.

The whole team was terrible but the backline are to be blamed less. Even when there was a turn of possession PSG couldn't hold on to the ball for much long. Its unfortunate bayern didn't seal the tie in the first leg by getting more than 3 goals cause they could have gotten it. If PSG go to Munich and play like this in front of Bayern support they will be thrashed easily.

What is the need for the Backline if they can't do their job, they should be blamed and with their previous game PSG played on Sunday it just confirmed that the backline is useless and it will cost them in Munich.
