Real Madrid Lost Their First Match Away From Home Against Rayo Vallecano

Source

The La Liga Santander matchday 13 came to an end last night as Rayo Vallecano faced defending league champions Real Madrid, it was not green for the Spanish champions as they got their first defeat of the season away from home.

Rayo Vallecano has been impressive this season against big teams, they shared points with Barcelona at the start of the season and I can clearly remember some Madrid supporters bantering Barcelona supporters for drawing against Rayo Vallecano and claimed that Real Madrid would trash Rayo Vallecano when both teams meet, but it turned out differently last night.

Rayo Vallecano also shared a point with Atlético Madrid and took all three points when they faced Sevilla, they are the Robin Hood of Laliga 😂. Rayo Vallecano opened the scoreline in the 5th minute of the first half from a counterattack, Francisco Garcia from Rayo Vallecano played a low cross into the box and found his teammate Santi Comesana who made a tap-in into the goalposts and gave Rayo Vallecano their first lead of the match.

Real Madrid leveled the scoreline in the 37th minute from a penalty, Francisco Garcia gave the assist for Rayo Vallecano but conceded a penalty after he tripped Asensio in the box, Luka Modric took the penalty and did not fail to find the net as he played the ball into the middle of the goalpost.

Real Madrid completed their comeback in the 41st minute from a corner kick, Asensio swung a cross into Rayo Vallecano's box and successfully found Militao who headed the ball into the goalpost and gave Madrid their first lead of the match but it all ended three minutes later as Rayo Vallecano leveled the scoreline on the cost of halftime.

Isi Palazon tapped the loose ball to his teammate in Madrid's box, Alvaro Garcia received the ball and took a powerful shot, Real Madrid's goalkeeper tried to stop the ball but it deflected off his hands into the goalpost. Rayo Vallecano completed their comeback after they were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute of the second half, Oscar Trejo from Rayo Vallecano took the penalty and played the ball into goalposts, and gave Rayo Vallecano their lead back.

Real Madrid kept pressing to level the scoreline back but couldn't get any goal even with the 8th-minute added time Madrid still failed to score. The match came to an end and Rayo Vallecano took all three points and helped Barcelona to remain at the top. Barcelona is two points clear of Real Madrid, a win today will extend their lead to five points and I am sure my boys will get the points.

So guys that will be all and thanks for stopping by, have a great week ahead.

I was really taken aback when I first saw 1-0. I felt Real Madrid would come around and win eventually only to see 3-2. It's better now than towards the tail end of the season.
