Saturday Match Recap In The English Premier League
Nottingham Forest and Liverpool opened the match day 13th of the English Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Liverpool lost to Nottingham Forest away from home by one goal to nothing, the Reds are still struggling in the new season, something we have not seen for a long time now.
I still think the departure of Mane is affecting Liverpool because they haven't been that great this season. I thought after their performances against Manchester City they would easily beat Nottingham Forest but it seems the Forest was too tough to take down.
Everton took on Crystal Palace yesterday, Everton dominated the field as they trashed Crystal Palace three goals to nothing. Dominic Calvert Lewin, Anthony Gordon, and Dwight McNeil were on the scoresheet for Everton. Alex Iwobi was the man of the match, he delivered two assists and was very involved in the match. It was nice to see one of our Nigerian players doing well in International club football.
Manchester City faced Brighton yesterday afternoon and the Norwegian Haaland made the headlines again. Manchester City beat Brighton by three goals to one, Haaland scored a brace and De Bruyne finished things up for City in the second half and Trossard scored the only goal for Brighton in the second half.
Haaland has now scored seventeen goals in the Premier League and is close to breaking Mohammad Salah's record, Haaland is on the verge of setting his record in the EPL, and at this point, he looks unstoppable.
Chelsea and Manchester United closed the Saturday fixtures in the EPL, this was the headline of the week and a game I had an interest in this weekend. Chelsea and Manchester United played to a 1-1 draw with Jorginho scoring a penalty in the 87th minute and Casemiro scoring a late equalizer in the 90+4 minute.
Both teams played well but in the end, there was no winner, Manchester United is having a great run with 5 games gone unbeaten, and Ten Hag looks to be doing a great job but time will tell soon if he is the right man for the job.
So guys that are all from Saturday's fixtures, thanks once again for stopping by.
