What a sad day it was for Argentina players and supporters in Qatar, Argentina's long unbeaten streak was broken this morning by Saudi Arabia as the Southern American side lost 2 goals to 1. Saudi Arabia's win over Argentina was a shock to many football fans as it was unexpected for Arabia to be the one to stop Argentina's long unbeaten run.

Argentina opened the scoreline in the 10th minute of the first half with a penalty kick. Messi as expected was the one who took the penalty kick, placed the ball into the goalposts, and sent Saudi Arabia goalkeepers flying the wrong way.

Argentina got another goal in the 28th minute from an incredible run by Inter Milan's Martinez, he got the through ball from his teammate and ran down the box then played a shot into the goal post but unfortunately, the goal got canceled by VAR for an offside. Argentina had everything, the ball possession, more chances, and more shots on target but still was not able to convert them into a goal, and it came back to hunt them in the second half.

Saudi Arabia scored their first goal of the match in the 49th minute of the second half, Feras Albrikan from Saudi Arabia played a through ball to his teammate on the run, and Saleh Al-Shehri received the ball tried to dribble past a defender and then decided to play shot, Argentina goalkeeper wasn't able to stop the ball as it enters into the goalpost.

Saudi Arabia completed their comeback three minutes later after their first goal, S. Al Dawsari from Saudi Arabia dribbled past two Argentina players and played a strong shot, the Argentina goalkeeper tried to stop the shot but the ball hit past his fingertips and curled into the goalposts.

Argentina was pressuring for an equalizer but could not get past Saudi Arabia's defense and goalkeeper, it got to a point where Saudi Arabia's players started committing fouls to keep their lead and the referee never failed to show his card up. Saudi Arabia received six yellow cards in the match which has been the highest number of yellow cards received by a team in the Qatar 2022 world cup.

Argentina failed to equalize as the match ended and Saudi Arabia took all three points. Argentina did not impress me today. Their defense was a mess and I was starting to wonder whether it was the same Argentina team that won the Copa America and beat Italy the Euros champions to win the Finalissima cup.

It is not over yet as Argentina still has 5 more games to play in the group stage, they have to make every match count to secure their round of 16 spots. I still believe Argentina has what it takes to win the World Cup, time will tell soon.

So guys that's all, for now, thanks once again for stopping by.

Argentina still has 5 more games to play in the group stage,

There are only two games left for them to play .In the world cup each team in a group faces each other once as there is no home and away in this one.

If they loose or draw their next game then there is a problem.

Am glad you saw that they did not impress. Is not only the defense, the middle of the park too wasn't working as they tried countless times to break the highline of Saudi but the offside trap always worked for them. Rather surprisingly Saudi had a very good game and their two goals were brilliant.
