Super Sunday Recap In Football

Source

Yesterday was a super Sunday in football, the results were expected and some came as a surprise to fans. Some of the big teams went head-to-head with their rivals, the EPL, Laliga Santander, and Bundesliga all had their top league contenders battle for the three points on Sunday.

In the EPL it was Liverpool Vs Manchester City who went head-to-head last night. I was expecting City to win since they were on form and Liverpool who has been struggling since the beginning of the season but the result did not go the way I imagined. Liverpool won by just a goal against Manchester City and who else but Mohammad Salah as he made his mark and scored the only goal of the match.

Liverpool goalkeeper Allison was firm in stopping the balls from entering his goalposts, Haaland got a few chances but could not

get the ball past Allison. We all know kryptonite is Superman's weakness, as for Manchester City their weakness seems to be Liverpool because they always have a way of defeating them when they both come face to face against each other.

The Laliga Santander had its first El Clasico of the season, Real Madrid Vs FC Barcelona also were the highlights of the weekend. Real Madrid beat their arch-rivals by three goals to one, with Benzema, Valverde, and Rodrigo on the score sheet for Madrid and Barcelona only had Ferran Torres on the scoresheet.

It was not a game I was too happy with, I have already made a post on my views on the match Link. I still think Barcelona should have done a better job because they have all the qualities and got players in the summer transfer window so they shouldn't be excused but in the end, Real Madrid was the better team.

The Bundesliga has been having some changes lately, Union Berlin seems to be the new big dog in the league. Union Berlin faced Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund last night in their first meeting of the season, the new league leaders won by two goals and Dortmund failed to score in the match.

Union Berlin's own Janik Haberer got a brace in the first half, his two goals sealed the victory for his side as they retained their first position on the table and are four points away from defending champions Bayern Munich, I think if Union Berlin keeps this form they could have a spot in the Champions League next session but winning the League I don't think so yet but still, I will be keeping watch on them and see how the progress till the final league match.

So guys this is where I will have to say goodbye, thanks again for stopping by.

Alisson showed his class with clever stops. I was expecting Manchester City to win but Liverpool showed mental strength.

The El Clasico was another surprise. I was expecting a tight affair.

Allison's performance was the best of the night, he really is a good goalkeeper.

I kind of miss the olden days backers, when even before you watch their game you knew they will smash their opponents. But I guess no team can win always.

Honestly, my wish concerning Man City came through - someone to stop their unbeaten shit. Now, Haland can rest in peace 😅. Thank you, Liverpool. 500 HBD for them!! 😎
Concerning Real vs Barca, Barca really disappointed me, I actually thought even if Real Madrid was going to win, it should and must be a really good fight of faith - or football. And the goal difference should just be one, not two.
