The End OF Line For Portugal And Ronaldo As The Lost To Morocco In The Quarter Final

Source

Yesterday we saw another upset in the world cup, Morocco beats Portugal by one goal to nothing in the Qatar finals knockout stage of the Fifa 2022 world cup in Qatar. I saw this coming after Morocco's win against Spain last week, Morocco has not only been the underdogs of the knockout stage but has also played well to get to where they are now in the world cup, and to me, I dont see it as luck, they deserved every win because they worked there mind, body and soul to get to the next round

When I saw Portugal starting lineup without Ronaldo I thought Portugal might just pull it off and win the match since they won their last game without him having any impact on the field. Romas who plays in his position and delivered a master class against Switzerland was on the starting list, after his performance against Switzerland it was not a surprise he was on the list, but it did not go as the Portugal coach planned yesterday.

Morocco scored the first and only goal of the match in the 42nd minute of the first half, Sevilla's center forward En-Nesyri scored the goal and was assisted by his teammate Attita Allah. Portugal dominated the match in possession but still could not get an equalizer, even when Ronaldo was subbed in the 51st minute of the second half he had little impact on the match, Morocco's defence on the other hand was top-notch, the defence held Portugal back from scoring any goal the same way they prevented Spain.

At the sound of the final whistle, I saw the joy of the Morocco players and coaching staff and also saw the pain and agony of the Portuguese players and especially Ronaldo who was in tears as he left the pitch. I am not a Ronaldo fan but his tears moved me. As I said in my previous post he needed to get his head in the game and step up but now he is on his way back home.

My fellow football lovers I fill we just saw the last time Ronaldo will put on a Portugal jersey and if so he will be missed by some Portuguese fans. In the post-match interview with Pepe (Portugal defender) I found what he said annoying, he said Fifa were unfair because they got an Argentina referee and might as well give Messi the world cup, now tell me why is Messi's name dragged in his defeat against Morocco, he is 38 he should grow up and leave Messi alone.

It was sad and joyful yesterday, but i am happy for my African brothers, and I think they might just beat France to qualify for the finals it is a big possibility, we wait and see how it goes on Wednesday. So guys that will be all for now, thanks for stopping by.
