The Negreira Case Against FC Barcelona
There has been a lot of speculation concerning FC Barcelona over the past weeks, the Spanish prosecutors filed a case against the club and two of its ex-president over an alleged payment to a company owned by senior referring officials, the Negreira case has caused a lot of upset on social media and made FC Barcelona looked at as a corrupt club.
According to the prosecutor, FC Barcelona paid 1.5 million euros between 2001 to 2018 to firms owned by Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, an ex-vice-president of Spain's referees' committee to influence Barcelona's game on the field ( no strong evidence has been provided). FC Barcelona is yet to release an official statement about the case, they seem calm and unbothered about the allegation made by the prosecutors.
FC Barcelona has claimed that they hired the referee community for technical reports of referees which clearly is a normal practice. The Negreira case has brought a lot of controversies between some clubs and their fan base against FC Barcelona, especially from Real Madrid who came out and said they will back the charges against FC Barcelona.
In my own opinion with what I have read, watched, and gathered this accusation against Barcelona is nothing but a joke because I can remember in the 2016/17 season in La Liga Barcelona suffered a lot from referees' decisions, there are literally videos out there that proves my statement. Where was does referees Barca paid during the period of injustice refereeing decisions in 2016, oh they went on vacation and decided not to do what Barca paid them to that season.
Barcelona has to be the most hated club in football, because I don't just get the hate they are receiving from other fanbases, well they can hate all they want but it won't change the fact that FC Barcelona has made history as a club football, and are one of the best clubs in the world. Looking forward to the Negreira case, I have no high expectations for the outcome if both parties head to court, winning the league is more important for the club this season and that is where Xavi and the boys are almost close to achieving this season.
