Invited Myself For A Walk at My In-Law's Neighborhood

I'm loving the mini trips we are having these days between our lil kingdom, my father-in-law's and here at the other place where my parents are. We had one yesterday and the weather was so cooperative with the sun bright and the day mostly sunny.

The old man was all smiles when we arrived. The road leading to their place had just opened a few days ago after its maintenance so yeah, I think he expected we were coming. We had lunch under the citrus tree where it was breezy. The cool and gentle wind offered a wonderful respite from the tropical hot sun. It was fun, I must say.

After catching up on things, it was time to do something else. He wore his boots and went hammering whilst I helped myself for a walk.

I passed by Ernesto and played with him for a bit. He is friendly as always and he's growing old and thin but still agile as he'd always been.

Then I proceeded to the northside going through the set up supposed to be for a green house but the old man changed his mind and said he will be taking them down soon 'coz he needed the metal pipes.

Anyway, I was drawn to the small farm with plastic mulching on the plots. It made me curious so I walked closer towards it. There isn't anybody around so it was good. The distance of the holes on the plastics, I believed they have prepared the plots to grow bell peppers.

The track isn't all fabulous but for a farmgirl, it's super easy.😅

From there, I headed towards the left towards the potatoes. Walked along the narrow pathway and further to the edge of the farm terraces. The views there were amazing. I had a glimpse of several villages in the distance, most of which I haven't been to.

Anyway, I strolled back to where Ernesto was and spent some time under the green house set up taking photographs of various greens growing on their own. Potatoes all over the place, a few mustard and some radishes. No one planted them there, they just germinated.

It baffled me that while these grew on their own accord and are not taken care off, no one watering or spraying them, no fertilizer even but they thrive quite well. But wondered why when potatoes are intentionally grown, they require so much attention and care. If not they most likely die or suffer from diseases.

The husband and the young man Mr. B came around and started loading the potato seedlings on the crates. I thought it was fun so I got me a pair of gloves and joined them. Had to sit on my own legs but I was happy to help. We spent almost an hour doing it. I forgot to take photos of the loaded crates though.

We left after everything was done and drove home, taking more photos along the way as we exited the village road.

Thank you :) And I can relate about digging potatoes. It's exciting when you find any under the soil, more so when it's heart-shaped :)
