My Actifit Report Card: October 17 2021

Breakfast was scrambled eggs with English muffins on the side. We had to move fast because today was the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival. It was at a county fairgrounds in Dutchess county.

We arrived and had a chance to park close to the gate. It was odd because usually the fields are pretty filled up but they were seemingly half full this year.

We went through some of the animal barns first. There was sheep judging and a lady shearing a sheep in one barn.

There was a lot of wool for sale along with everything that has any connection to spinning or knitting. There were other booths also, like folks selling Shaker style baskets.

After awhile we were getting hungry for lunch. We noticed there wasn’t a fried dough truck. Almost a traditional fair food for us. There was a booth selling diced lamb over a yellow rice. It was interesting but I don’t think I’d order it again.

Then we went into some buildings that had a museum type display. Showing things like a old general store, barbershop, etc.

Near the fairgrounds there is an aerodrome that has older planes. So at one point we had a biplane flying over head.

We did a couple more buildings with vendors. My wife bought a skein of yarn and we bought a music cd of a band from Peru. Then we left to head home.

One home I made a loaf of rosemary bread in the bread maker. We watched a movie, “The Guernsey” while we waited for me to start dinner.

For dinner I did a Turkey London broil with bbq sauce on the grill. With the bread and broccoli it was delicious. Then we watched some NCIS while I worked on my posts before bedtime. Anyway, thanks for reading.
