A View from Downtown Caracas

Going out to simply stroll through the center of this incredible city is a unique experience, which always leaves us with new experiences and beautiful memories, Caracas despite being a modern and cosmopolitan city also has those historic corners that fill us with nostalgia and allow us the great opportunity to take a tour of the past and enjoy the Caracas of yesteryear that despite being very simple turned out to be tremendously colorful.

Una Mirada desde el Centro de Caracas

Salir a simplemente pasear por el centro de esta increíble ciudad es una experiencia única, la cual siempre nos deja nuevas experiencias y lindos recuerdos, Caracas a pesar de ser una ciudad moderna y cosmopolita también cuenta con esos rincones históricos que nos llenan de nostalgia y nos permiten la grandiosa oportunidad de dar un recorrido por el pasado y disfrutar de esa Caracas de antaño que a pesar de ser muy sencilla resultaba ser tremendamente vistosa.

That is why today I went out aimlessly, without a pre-established plan and with the sole purpose of living a different moment, where I could capture several photographs and at the same time walk among old streets and picturesque balconies which would give me the opportunity to relax my mind and at the same time train my body. It is in this way that without hesitation I decided to leave very early, to take advantage of the characteristic brightness of the morning and at the same time flee a little from the inclement sun that at this time of the year overwhelms during the midday hours.

Es por eso que hoy salí sin rumbo fijo, sin un plan preestablecido y con la única finalidad de vivir un momento diferente, en donde pudiera captar diversas fotografías y al mismo tiempo caminar entre calles viejas y pintorescos balcones los cuales me darían la oportunidad de relajar mi mente y al mismo tiempo entrenar mi cuerpo. Es de esta forma como sin dudarlo decidí salir muy temprano, para esta forma aprovechar el brillo característico de la mañana y al mismo tiempo huirle un poco al inclemente sol que en esta época del año agobia durante las horas del mediodía.

I have discovered that walking through the center of this city on a weekday morning is great, since in this way we can enjoy the rhythm of the inhabitants of this capital, which move from one side to another to go to their jobs and run multiple errands, it is as if we were watching from afar the palpitation of a hardworking society, which day by day struggles to change their stars and improve their lifestyle.

He descubierto que pasear por el centro de esta ciudad en una mañana de un día de semana es genial, puesto que de esta forma podemos disfrutar del ritmo propio de los habitantes de esta capital, los cuales se desplazan de un lado a otro para ir a sus trabajos y hacer múltiples diligencias, es como si nos encontráramos viendo a lo lejos el palpitar de una sociedad inmensamente trabajadora, la cual día a día lucha por cambiar sus estrellas y mejorar su estilo de vida.

The center of Caracas hides really impressive places, but this time my feet took me straight to a little known corner, it is a small old house that houses the facilities of the Sacred Museum, there although I did not enter the exhibition halls I could enjoy one of the most interesting gardens I have seen, it is a space dating from colonial times and shows us those first traces of Spanish architecture, where the stone walls and a natural grid-shaped space give us fresh air and a calm breeze.

El centro de Caracas esconde lugares realmente impresionantes, pero en esta ocasión mis pies me llevaron directo a un rincón poco conocido, se trata de una pequeña y vieja casa que alberga las instalaciones del Museo Sacro, allí a pesar de que no entré en las salas de exposición pude disfrutar de uno de los jardines más interesantes que he podido observar, se trata de un espacio que data de la época colonial y nos muestra con aquellos primeros vestigios de la arquitectura española, en donde las paredes de piedra y un espacio natural de forma cuadriculada nos regalan aire puro y una brisa tranquila.

But just as I entered this place I could also peek into one of Los Balcones del Museo Bolivariano, which is a larger two-storey house, which gives us an interesting panoramic view of the Plaza el Venezolano and at the same time shows us the most modern towers of the city center, giving us again those architectural contrasts so peculiar and iconic of the city of Caracas. I can affirm with total certainty that this walk was tremendously productive for me, since I spent interesting moments, took many photographs and walked thousands of steps that as a whole energized my soul and relaxed my mind.

Pero así como entré a este lugar también pude asomarme uno de Los Balcones del Museo Bolivariano, el cual se trata de una casona más grande de dos plantas, la cual nos regala una interesante vista panorámica de la Plaza el Venezolano y al mismo tiempo nos muestra a las torres más modernas del centro de la ciudad, regalándonos de nuevo esos contrastes arquitectónicos tan peculiares e icónicos de la ciudad de Caracas. Puedo afirmar con total seguridad que este paseo me resultó tremendamente productivo, puesto que pasé momentos interesantes, duré muchas fotografías y recorrí miles de pasos que en su conjunto energizaron mi alma y relajaron mi mente.
