A Pretty Busy Day

Today was a busy day, where I woke up very early and set out to go to the heart of the city. To tell the truth, I had many goals planned and wasn't sure if there would be enough hours in the day to do everything. As usual, my chosen method of transportation for the day would be my feet and the subway system, always trying to use the stairs and keeping myself in constant motion, which at the end of the day translates into calories burned and steps taken.

Un Día Bastante Ocupado

Hoy fue un día lleno de trabajo, en donde desperté muy temprano y me dispuse a salir al corazón de la ciudad. A decir verdad, tenía muchos objetivos planeados y no estaba seguro de si las horas del día iban a ser suficientes para realizar todas las actividades. Como es de costumbre, mi método de transporte elegido para esta jornada serían mis pies y el sistema metro, en este último siempre procurando utilizar las escaleras fijas y manteniéndome en constante movimiento, lo cual se traduce al final del día en calorías quemadas y pasos realizados.

Fortunately, I didn't have to go very far, and I was able to do everything relatively easily within the blocks that make up the city center. However, as expected, I encountered many people on the street, and this was compounded by some unexpected delays and several conversations that lasted longer than expected but were really fruitful and worthwhile.

Afortunadamente, no tuve que ir tan lejos, todo lo pude realizar con relativa facilidad entre las cuadras que conforman el centro de la ciudad, pero como era de esperarse me encontré a muchas personas en la calle, a esto se le sumó algún retraso no previsto y varias conversaciones que duraron más de la cuenta, pero que realmente fueron fructíferas y provechosas.

I returned home tired, hungry, and a little wet from an afternoon drizzle, but happy to have accomplished almost 100% of what I had planned. But the incredible thing about all this is that when I looked up at the sky, I stumbled upon a dark city, as night had fallen without me noticing, the cold was creeping through the streets, and the urban flow was mostly heading towards residential areas.

Retorno a casa cansado, con hambre y un tanto mojado por una llovizna vespertina, pero contento por haber realizado casi el 100% de todo lo planeado, pero lo increíble de todo esto es que cuando alcé mi mirada hacia el cielo me Tropecé con una ciudad oscura, ya que sin darme cuenta había caído la noche, el frío tanteaba por las calles y el flujo urbano se dirigía en su mayoría hacia las áreas residenciales.

There are days that are so hectic and turbulent that things happen so quickly that you don't even notice them. The dynamism of the times we live in is incredible, so much so that sometimes life passes us by in the blink of an eye. That's why it's important to take a break every now and then, look up at the sky, and enjoy the simple things that life gives us.

Hay días que son tan agitados y convulsos que las obras pasan tan rápido que uno no logra percibirlas. El dinamismo de esta época en la cual estamos viviendo es bárbaro, que incluso a veces la vida se nos pasa en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Es por esta razón que de vez en cuando es importante darse un respiro, mirar hacia el cielo y disfrutar de las cosas sencillas que nos regala la vida.
