My Best Liverpool FC XI Since I Became A Liverpool Fan

Hello everyone and all members of Sports Talk Social Community, this time I want to participate again in this community. I am a football fan, and my favorite club is Liverpool FC. I want to make a Best Liverpool XI based on my opinion.

This is my personal version of the Best Liverpool XI. Of course, I only involved players I saw and watched them play when these players were still playing for Liverpool FC. For your information, I started to be a Liverpool fan (since 2003 until now). I will also try to explain the reasons I chose this player, and of course this is just a subjective opinion from me as a Liverpool FC fan. I chose a 1-4-3-3 formation this time.

Goalkeeper – Pepe Reina

For Liverpool fans, the goalkeeper sector is a position that changes frequently. It can be seen from the statistics and history, since the premier league era in 1990 Liverpool FC has 23 people alternately become Liverpool goalkeepers. In fact, only a few names can get more than 100 caps with Livepool FC. Call it names, Jerzy Dudek (127 caps), Simon Mignolet (155 caps), David James (215 caps), Pepe Reina (285 caps), and of course Allison Becker (118 currently).

If I had to vote, I'd go for Pepe Reina (in his prime) for My Best Liverpool XI. Pepe Reina at that time had become a modern goalkeeper, not only had good ability, good reflexes, he was also able to pass the ball well. During Liverpool's difficult times, he was several times the Premier League's best goalkeeper. One more thing, the chants of the kopites for him are cool too. One Pepe Two Pepe Three Pepe Reina (to the beat of Maccarena).

Fullback Right – Trent Alexander-Arnold

Young and Dangerous. That word is the most appropriate to describe the figure of Trent Alexander-Arnold. At the age of 23, he has won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League as a regular player. Trent Alexander-Arnold's way of playing brings a new dimension to Liverpool's style of football. Liverpool's counter-press system does not use playmakers but uses the creativity of wingers (wingers and fullbacks), making it more explosive. He also has very good passing accuracy, long passes or crossings that he does are very pleasing to the eye. Not surprisingly, he is always in the rankings of Top Assists in the Premier League.

Centerback – Virgil van Dijk

Source

Want to know how important this player is? try watching a Liverpool game without Van Dijk present and you will surely find the answer. Van Dijk is a ball-playing defender who has strength, leadership, wins duel headings, and has excellent long passes. Several times, Liverpool FC had goals that started with Van Dijk's long pass. Don't forget, Van Dijk often scores goals with headings through corner schemes or free kicks.

Centerback – Daniel Agger

Agger played at Liverpool FC for 8 seasons (2006-2014). For Liverpool fans, he is known through the YNWA tattoo on his finger. Agger looks very scary. For centerback, Agger has excellent dribbling and passing abilities. He also has a very strong left-footed shot. Unfortunately, in his last few seasons at Liverpool, he was often absent due to injury.

Fullback Left – John Arne Riise

I still remember the terrible moment of Riise in February 2006. At that time the Big Match match between Liverpool FC vs Manchester United, free kick from Riise tried to be blocked by Alan Smith. Unfortunately because of that, Alan Smith's ankle injured his ankle and made Alan Smith's career fall immediately. John Arne Riise is one of my favorite players, he has terrible speed and shot power. His presence on the left side of Liverpool's defense, is also able to provide attacking options for both bait and finishing.

Midfielder – Xabi Alonso

Xabi Alonso is a very cool defensive midfielder in my opinion. This position is usually filled by people who are fierce and tough. But unlike Xabi Alonso, he is not a defensive midfielder who falls and rises to make tackles. He is a smart player with above-average vision of the game and is able to cut off the opposing team's attacks with the ability to read the game. Xabi Alonso has the ability to pass, good ball distribution and can set the rhythm of the game. It can be said, Xabi Alonso is a role model for the current defensive midfielder.

Midfielder – Steven Gerrard

This Liverpool legend is terrible, Gerrard is the most complete midfielder of his time. He can play in all midfielder positions, such as defensive midfielder, box to box, or advance playmaker. Gerrard has incredible goal-scoring instincts. He was very productive by scoring 191 goals with Liverpool FC. He also has good posture and excellent passing ability. In addition, he is a natural leader.

Midfielder – Philippe Coutinho

Source

Maybe you and I are surprised to see how Coutinho is currently. But during 5 seasons at Liverpool, Coutinho was among the 10 best players in the world. Transfer record (number 2 under Neymar) proves how the quality of his game at that time. Coutinho has always had his moments at Liverpool, I always look forward to curling long shots from him. He will dribble from the left and then cut inside and boom, a hard curve shoot into the opponent's goal. Currently, at Liverpool there is no player who can replace him, although Liverpool are doing better without coutinho. However, his creativity and courage create a different dimension for Liverpool's attacking side.

Forward – Luis Suarez
luis-suarez-kembali-ke-liverpool-AiNBMjUG2d.jpg
Source

He is a very terrible goal predator. Luis Suarez is a goal guarantee for every club he plays for. From the start, Ajax Asterdam, Liverpool, Barcelona to Atletico Madrid at this time, he did not stop scoring goals and goals. He is not a player with high speed, I find his dribble style strange too, but he can score goals with any attack scheme. We can see, he scored a goal by shooting, long shot, heading, or free kick. In addition, Luis Suarez is known as a very opportunist, does not want to give up, and justifies any means for victory. I'm sure all coaches want to have players with this character.

Forward – Mohamed Salah

One season wonder, that's what some people who are jealous of Mohamed Salah always say. Now, Mohamed Salah has played for 5 seasons at Liverpool and is the fastest player to score 100 goals for Liverpool. Mohamed Salah has speed, and excellent shooting accuracy. To be honest, when Liverpool first brought in from As Roma for a transfer fee of £43 million, I doubted he would make a big contribution. But, now Mohamed Salah is proving he is one of the best players in the world.

Forward – Fernando Torres

Source

The duo of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard at that time was very iconic, Torres had a very good first touch and dribble. He is also very dangerous when dueling one on one with the opponent's center back. If you get too close to him, Fernando Torres can outwit you and if you keep him too far away, he will shoot or ask you to sprint. Torres also has a very ideal height for a striker, he can also be a wall or to welcome a cross.

Okay, here's my version of the Best Liverpool FC line-up, or the ones I've watched. Actually, there is one Liverpool FC player that I really like, namely Dirk Kuyt, but I realize Dirk Kuyt is not very good for a forward, but I'm sure all Liverpool fans like this player, because he is a player who has great determination and passion. .

Do you agree with the line-up above? or have other options? write in the comments and let's discuss.

What a team you have there. I wouldn't mind going with this selections too especially with them in their prime. They would be absolutely devastating and blow away any team. Great choice.

Thank you for stoping by @olawalium
One of the pleasures of a football fan is to arrange formations or players according to their wishes. Maybe, because these are also games like FIFA, PES or Football Manager are always in demand.

(Edited)

I've always been a fan of FIFA games and been playing since 2002 hahaha. That's right...the fun part is selecting the formation and the right kind of players.

Good to see your post.

Thanks for stopping by..
In the premier league this season, Jordan Henderson is the best captain of the 20 teams in the premier league. Of the Big Six, there is no captain who has a strong character like Henderson. I still have great respect for him.

I'm a little sad when I remember when I used to make fun of him for too many backpasses to defenders.
