Desperate Times For Chelsea Fc, Sparking A Desperate Move For Felix

Hello everyone,

I can't imagine what it must feel like to be a Chelsea fan these days. It has got to be tiring losing games on a weekly basis across various competition. This was supposed to be a new chapter for the club after its acquisition by the Boehly consortium and the massive $300 million shopping spree by the club over the summer.

Despite bringing in a new manager (Graham Potter), with a right sense of tactical approach, it hasn't worked out quite well. This is coming at a time where the club is facing an injury crisis with a number of key players receiving treatment.

The likes of Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Raheem Sterling, N'golo Kante and Reece James are all injured. Also, a number of signings that were brought to the club have not been proved fruitful yet. Aubameyang has not shown any goalscoring desire yet, Koulibaly has not quite filled Rudiger's boots and the once creative Mason Mount has not been quite productive lately.

The current state of Chelsea actually reminds me of last season's Manchester United. Players seem to be all over the place with no clear tactic on display. The club therefore seems to need an "open-heart surgery" in order to fix their looming problems across all departments.

With that being said, Graham Potter needs adequate time to be able to fix the current situation at the club, given his successful track record at previous clubs.

However, I was quite surprised to hear that the club is currently pursuing Joao Felix, a very expensive forward who hasn't quite worked out at his current club (Atletico Madrid). He hasn't been able to score more than double digits a season and hasn't been quite prolific as the club might have hoped.

The priority area for Chelsea should rather be in the creative department. As stated earlier, Mason Mount has fallen off the wagon and Conor Gallagher has not proven to be able to handle a role that big. Mateo Covacic is the only player I see who seems to be creating a few chances at the moment aside some young talents looking to emerge.

If any spendings must be done at the club, they need to strengthen their midfield. Thank you for your attention.
