What A Game! The Title Race Is Getting Fierce

Greetings everyone,

Today we witnessed another premier league classic between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield. This game had a lot riding on it as Arsenal hoped to secure restore their 8 points lead, while Liverpool hoped to secure some points if there is any hope of them playing in Europe.

Going into the game, I knew Liverpool had not been at their best but in football, recent form doesn't always tell the whole story especially when the matter of a team's pride comes into question. Liverpool has had a pretty bad form coming into this game with losses to Man City, Real Madrid and even Bournemouth. A win at Anfield was surely much needed today for them to make a statement.

Arsenal as we have also come to know them have been quite resilient in their pursuit of this premier league trophy. This is unlike the Arsenal I knew from the past seasons who had a shirked sense of believe. This particular Arsenal team's sense of desire and enthusiasm on the pitch is sine quo non.

This sense of desire is even more apparent due to the fact that the premier league title is in their hands. And it is what they do which will determine their fate and the end of the seaon. This was the more reason why I knew this match was going to be intriguing.

So what were my thoughts on this game

I thought both teams were a bit wasteful. You don't come into a game of this magnitude and miss easy chances. There were good moments for both sides where they could have capitalized and increased their odds of winning. Bukayo Saka could have made the most out of the two-v-two situations he had on the wings, and the obvious Liverpool miss was that of Mo Salah's penalty.

However, Arsenal did very well to pounce on the chances they produced in the first half with Martinelli's goal and that of Gabriel Jesus' goal as well. This allowed them to stay in the game in the second half when the momentum shifted to Liverpool's side and they got dominated.

I really enjoyed the second half when both teams were going at each other. It was more like the "heavy metal" football which is symbolic to Jurgen Kloop's Liverpool side. And all though I watched this game at home, the noise in the Anfield stadium was deafening as well.

I think the difference maker was Aaron Ramsdale who made very important saves in the latter stages of the game to deny Liverpool the win and keep their title hopes alive.

This is the premier league table as it stands source

Personally, I loved how the game unfolded as the title race remains alive and we could potentially see this game go all the way and be decided on the final day of the season.

Thank you for your attention.

I still believe that Arsenal would find a way to bottle this title on way.😂😂 a win at Anfield would have gone a long way to boost their confidence, I’m just loving the fight between these two teams.

It’s surely going to be an interesting set of matches to come. I fancy City beating Arsenal at the Etihad on the 26th. That would be funny as hell 🤣🤣
