of stews and reels: March 21 2024

what a pleasant surprise it was. i went to the local grocer the other day planning to buy a stronger flavored curry rue. the last time was a bit mild so i wanted to buy something with a bit more kick and what a kick it was, i was tumbled out of the chair in fact. i bought a strong flavor indeed, but it was not curry rue. i brought a wrong box: beef stew flavoring. oh well, they looked the same and is applicable in the same fashion. the flavor is different though. but who am i to complain when it was my fault in the first place? so i sautéed in the usual onion and garlic, then added in ground meat. then eggplant or aubergine as other may call it, mushrooms and fried tofu. this is turning up to be quite a circus. finally added in the beef stew cubes with some water to dissolve in. before everything is complete, finally added my slightly wilted spinach which has sat for a week in the fridge now. nothing too farfetched, that tasted well! as i have said before, cooking is an experiment and i love to experiment. it goes well with rice. this could even pass as a spaghetti sauce.

that evening, we had leg trainings. the past two days was spent on cardio exercises which i failed to write about. it should have been a great brag for the 10 thousand steps but there was really nothing else to write about. and i got too complacent thinking of what to write that time flew by quick, and it was past midnight before i knew it. and i got engaged with creating instagram reels for the trips i failed to post. handling social media can be quite time consuming. although there is really no reward for normal people, but the oc in me would like to curate a little bit before hitting that post button. there is really no reward and yet i am still posting. sometimes i wonder what the point is, and yet i still minded.

anyway, back to the leg exercise.
pull ups (12 x 10)
squats (70kg x 3 x 12)
dead lift (40kg x 3 x 12)
lunges (25kg x 3 x 12 per leg)
bulgarian split squat (25kg x 2 x 12 per leg)
leg extensions (52kg x 4 x 10)
leg press (154kg x 2 x 10, 145kg x 1 x 10)
leg curls (36kg x 4 x 10)

i think i did better this time. the last time we had legs, i was exhausted right at the start. this time, i was at the end. i even did leg presses instead of the half assed calf extensions. probably because i did not do any hip adduction/abduction exercises during my cardio day so my legs were still in good condition today. or probably due to the fact that i did some simple leg warm ups before starting this all. i will probably try so warm ups the next time just to see if that is really the case, nonetheless i am happy. pleasantly surprised.

as always, click the subscribe button... oops! no influencer here.
