glass heart : September 29 2025

this was how the sky looked after everything has settled. it drizzled for a bit that night but it did not intensify as rain. and so the sky remained relatively clear. there were fast moving clouds and i guess that is a good sign. but i had no nightwalk today, i just decided not to. but we had some grocery at a 100 yen shop and i guess i could count that as my nightwalk.

for the lack of a clear cardio activity, i decided to head to the gym for a walk on the treadmill. i don't usually hear what i watch on the treadmill screen, but yesterday i saw that it is now possible to use your own earphones. so today, i did just that; brought my own to finally enjoy the full experience. so allow me to share what i enjoyed.

i picked this series because i needed to check whether the earphones were working well. i naturally picked one with lots of music. but i never expected to get hooked. that cinematography was great, just look at the pictures and you can confirm that for yourself.

the series opened with a food delivery to a music studio, a music genius started to create a band and was holed in there in full focus to create a new song. the keyboardist joined in and later followed by the lead guitar. but the genius was still unsatisfied, they lacked a drummer. the delivery woman who happened to be a drummer chimed in with here beats. she was quickly accepted. that was the start of the band. but they had to prove how marketable they were so the genius one decided that they play as front act of a rock band, days before the event. it was on that performance day where they heard first the band's name, tenblank.

during the whole series, people around this lady heroine have always warned her how tiring it is to work with a genius, and i think the cracks have slowly appeared as early as the 2nd episode.

what i find interesting in this drama though is that a real world tenblank band with the same members have released official music. the fictional band debuts as a real world band, so i guess the members in the real world band will be using their names in the netflix drama. very interesting!

a similar concept happened before with a fictional idol group debuting and performing in a concert in the real world. footage from the concert were used in the series. so i guess tenblank will also do the same, which meant that the artist will have to learn instruments and be very good at it to pass as a real band. i have read in the net that the actor playing the drummer had no prior drum knowledge and had to devote herself learning the drums for 18 months, that is dedication there. it also goes the same for the other 3 members, they had to learn the instrument to portray the role.

i applaud these actors for their dedication to the craft. them learning to play may be enough to portray the role in the series, but with the looming real life band project, will they perform well? i guess we will have to find out, we will have to cross the bridge when we get there. but that show was really promising. i guess i have a new show to watch.
