The first match of the Semifinals: Croatia Vs Argentina [ENG/ITA]
This is it! The first semi-final of this WorldCup in Qatar 2022 has just been decided: Croatia and Argentina will face each other! A match full of talent and emotional charge that will see on one side the Men of Scaloni dragged by Lionel Messi try to grab the World Cup, on the other a team that once again proves to be among the best 4 in the world: Croatia.
Messi's Argentina is a perfect combo of talent and experience, youngsters who are coming to the fore and veterans who are proving once again that they are at the highest level of football.
Croatia, on the other hand, surprisingly eliminates one of the great favourites of this WorldCup: Tite's Brazil. Now officially in the running for the title, they will certainly not be intimidated by the Argentinians.
So set your watches, your alarm clocks, everything you have not to miss out on a match that is not at all a foregone conclusion. Will there be any surprises? We shall see.

Croatia VS Brazil and Netherland VS Argentina!
Croatia VS Brasil
Croatia VS Brasil was a long and exhausting match decided on penalties with one surprise: Croatia went through and a big favourite of the 2022 World Cup, Brazil, was eliminated.
Match highlights
Brazil came to the match strong with its latest results, having found Neymar Junior and aware that it can easily overstep its limits. The Brazilian stars shine with pure talent: from Vinicious Jr to Richarlison, from Thiago Silva to Casemiro. A battleship capable of making the entire Brazilian people and Tite, the man who leads the Selecao, dance.
Croatia comes in as outsiders, underdogs for the match. But the Croatians can boast a very solid midfield composed of pure talent led by an outclass and absolute magician such as Luka Modric.
The 90 minutes are a bit boring, we all expected more. Brazil try to score and risk conceding, Croatia defend with their teeth and try to hurt. But the regulation time ends 0-0. We go into extra time.
Right at the end of the first overtime period, Neymar's serpentine run into the penalty area gave his national team the lead, Brazil ahead 0-1.
At the resumption, in the second extra time, Croatia did not accept this and tried in every way to equalize. And indeed the equaliser came in the 117th minute with a delicious ball in the penalty area by Orsic and Petkovic's goal. A draw then: Croatia 1 - Brazil 1.
It will go to penalties. Brazilians still favourites but not for long.
Rodrygo came from the penalty spot and made a clamorous mistake. Croatia's penalty shoot-out was perfect, and they went through to the round when Marquinos also missed his penalty.
Brazil surprisingly out of the cup, Tite announces his resignation.
Croatia's Luka Modric and his team-mates are the first semi-finalists in the tournament.
Netherlands VS Argentina
Another quarter-final: Match between Netherlands and Argentina. Two worlds in comparison, on the one hand the pure and crystalline talent of the Albiceleste; on the other the compactness and experience of the Orange.
Match highlights
The match is loaded with expectation. The entire weight of an entire nation is loaded onto the shoulders of one man: Lionel Messi. The Argentine star is called upon to drag his national team to the final victory of the tournament in order to match the exploits of the one and only Diego Armando Maradona.
The Netherlands, however, have shown that they are compact and solid and do not give their opponents an easy ride. If Messi wants to win, he will have to deal with them.
Messi himself, in the 35th minute of the first half, invented something extraordinary: a stunning pass into the penalty area through a space, a corridor, that only he could see. A crazy assist with an almost no-look filtering pass from Messi to Molina, who could do nothing more than slot in the 0-1 ball.
In minute 73 of the second half it was again the strongest player of all, Lionel Messi, who scored a penalty and gave his team a more than deserved lead: Netherlands 0 - Argentina 2.
But the Netherlands did not take it lying down. They tried in every way to equalise and, in fact, in the 83rd minute on a beautiful cross by Berghius, Weghorst scored a great header. The score was reduced: Netherlands 1 - Argentina 2.
A full 11 minutes of added time were needed for something magical to happen. Weghorst again, another goal. A fantastic one-two gives his side extra time. The Orange people explode with joy.
The extra time is evenly divided: Holland takes the first trying to score, Argentina takes the second and almost manages to take the lead with a venomous shot by Enzo Fernandez, which, however, hits the post.
The spectre of penalties was near and indeed even extra time ends in a draw.
This is it: penalties.
From the penalty spot Virgil Van Dijk had the chance to get his national team off on the right foot, but Emiliano Martinez disagreed. He senses his opponent's shot and with a great save neutralises the danger.

From the Berghius penalty spot, Emiliano Martinez again neutralises the threat. He exults as Martinez scores under the AlbiCeleste fans.
The lottery continued until Enzo Fernandez (who also picked up a post in the final minutes of the second period of extra time and could therefore redeem himself from the penalty spot). But luck is sometimes blind. Shot... out.
The Netherlands seem to be back in the game, albeit at a disadvantage.

Now it is the turn of Lautaro Martinez, El Toro. He has the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders. But the Toro is sharp and finds his first goal of this WorldCup 2022. GOAL!
Argentina in the semi-final!
Ci siamo! La prima semifinale di questa WorldCup in Qatar 2022 è appena stata decisa: si sfideranno Croatia e Argentina! Un match ricco di talento e carica emotiva che vedrà da un lato gli Uomini di Scaloni trascinati da Lionel Messi provare ad agguantare la Coppa Del Mondo, dall'altro una squadra che ancora una volta si dimostra essere tra e migliori 4 al mondo: la Croazia.
L'Argentina di Messi è una combo perfetta di talento ed esperienza, giovani che si stanno mettendo in luce e veterani che stanno dimostrando ancora una volta di essere ai livelli più alti calcio.
La Croazia invece a sorpresa elimina una delle grandi favorite di questa WorldCup: Il Brasile di Tite. Ora ufficialmente in corsa per il titolo, di certo non si lascerà intimorire dagli Argentini.
Fissate dunque gli orologi, le sveglie, tutto quello che avete per non perdervi assolutamente una partita che si presenta come un match per nulla scontato. Ci saranno delle sorprese? Vedremo.

Croatia VS Brasil
Croatia VS Brasil è stata una partita lunga ed estenuante decisasi ai calci di rigori con una sorpresa: passa la Croazia e viene eliminata una grande favorita della Coppa Del Mondo 2022 e cioè il Brasile.

Il Brasile si presenta al match forte dei suoi ultimi risultati, avendo ritrovato Neymar Junior e consapevole che può facilmente oltrepassare i propri limiti. Le stelle Brasiliano brillano di talento puro: da Vinicious Jr a Richarlison, da Thiago Silva a Casemiro. Una corazzata in grado di far ballare tutto il popolo Brasiliano e Tite, l'uomo che guida la Selecao.

Proprio alla fine del primo tempo supplementare una serpentina di Neymar in area di rigore regala il gol del vantaggio alla sua nazionale, Brasile avanti per 0 a 1.
Alla ripresa, nel secondo tempo supplementare, la Croazia non ci sta e prova in ogni modo a pareggiare. E infatti il pareggio arriva al minuto 117 con una palla deliziosa in area di rigore di Orsic e il goal di Petkovic. Pareggio dunque: Croatia 1 - Brasile 1.
Si andrà ai rigori. Brasiliani ancora favoriti ma non per molto.
Dal dischetto di presenta Rodrygo che sbaglia clamorosamente. Perfetti i rigori dei Croati, che passano il turno quando anche Marquinos sbaglia il penalty.
Brasile fuori dalla coppa a sorpresa, Tite annuncia le dimissioni.
La Croatia di Luka Modric e compagni è la prima semifinalista del Torneo.
Netherlands VS Argentina
Altro quarto di finale: Match tra Olanda ed Argentina. Due mondi a confronto, da un lato il talento puro e cristallino dell'Albiceleste; Dall'altro la compattezza e l'esperienza degli Orange.
Highlights della partita
La partita è carica di aspettative. Tutto il peso di una nazione intera è caricato sulle spalle di un solo uomo: Lionel Messi. Il fuoriclasse argentino è chiamato a trascinare la sua nazionale nella vittoria finale del torneo per poter eguagliare le gesta dell'unico e solo Diego Armando Maradona.
L'Olanda, però, ha dimostrato di essere compatta e solida e di non dare vita facile agli avversari. Se Messi vuole vincere, dovrà vedersela con loro.
Proprio Messi al minuto 35 del primo tempo inventa qualcosa di straordinario: un passaggio strabiliante in area di rigore attraverso uno spazio, un corridoio, che solo lui poteva vedere. Assist al bacio con un filtrante pazzesco quasi in no look di Messi per Molina che non può fare altro che insaccare la palla dello 0 a 1 .
Al minuto 73 del secondo tempo è ancora il giocatore più forte di tutti, Lionel Messi, a segnare un rigore e a regalare un vantaggio più che meritato alla sua squadra: Olanda 0 - Argentina 2.
Ma l'Olanda non ci sta. Prova in tutti i modi a pareggiare e infatti al minuto 83 su un bel cross di Berghius, Weghorst insacca una grande palla di testa. Svantaggio ridotto: Olanda 1 - Argentina 2.
Servono ben 11 minuti di recupero per far succedere qualcosa di magico. Ancora Weghorst, ancora un goal. Con una fantastica doppietta regala ai suoi i tempi supplementari. Il popolo Orange esplode di gioia.
I tempi supplementari sono equamente divisi: l'Olanda si prende il primo provando a segnare, l'Argentina si prende il secondo e quasi riesce a portarsi in vantaggio con un tiro velenoso di Enzo Fernandez che però si scaglia sul palo.
Lo spettro dei rigori è vicino e infatti anche i tempi supplementari si chiudono in pareggio.

Dal dischetto di presenta Virgil Van Dijk che ha l'occasione di far partire con il piede giusto la sua nazionale, ma Emiliano Martinez non è d'accordo. Intuisce il tiro dell'avversario e con una grande parata neutralizza il pericolo.

Dal dischetto Berghius, Emiliano Martinez neutralizza di nuovo la minaccia. Esulta come se avesse segnato Martinez sotto lo spicchio dei tifosi dell'AlbiCeleste.
la lotteria continua finchè non arriva da dischetto Enzo Fernandez ( che ha anche preso un palo nei minuti finali del secondo tempo supplementare e può dunque riscattarsi dal dischetto). Ma la fortuna a volte è cieca. Tiro.. fuori.

You are right it would have been unthinkable. I would like to see more surprises, but I think the line is pretty much drawn. France is proving to be the favourite for the title, Morocco has to put their usual heart and a little more into it. Croatia could give Argentina a hard time...
