The second match of the Semifinals: Morocco Vs France [ENG/ITA]
This is it! The second semi-final of the WorldCup in Qatar 2022 has also been decided! We will see Morocco, the real revelation of this World Cup, a team full of grit, heart, soul and will to win, compete against each other. A team capable of breaking every record: the first African national team to qualify for the semi-finals of a World Cup. If they had told you this at the worldcup started would you have believed it? Not really. But surprises are good for that!
On the other side instead we find France, the reigning World Champions. The team of stars, as it is often labelled. Full of champions, young and old talents. Experience and boldness. Led by a certain Kylian Mbappè, dragged along by the heavy goals of Olivier Giroud, called in to replace a perfect machine like Karim Benzema.
How will this second semi-final go? I can't really give you a prediction honestly, I hope to see a lot of football and have a lot of fun. And, perhaps, we might see a few more surprises :)
Morocco VS Portugal
Morocco VS Portugal was a scintillating match, surprisingly decided by a Moroccan goal. Portugal's final forcing to try and equalize the match was useless. The Moroccan feat proved successful.

Portugal came into the match as the favourite, as had also happened to the teams that had previously faced Morocco, above all Spain, who had been eliminated in the previous round by the Moroccan national team.
Portugal is off to a strong start with a mix of youth and talent ready to take the stage and make it to the next stage; it has the luxury of leaving a timeless champion like Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, but fields a truly talented and promising battery. In addition, he can count on the bench to try and shake up the competition.
Morocco, fresh from a gigantic performance against Spain, will try to play the game here as well. And in fact that is exactly what happens: a strike by
En Nesyri in the 43rd minute of the first half stunned the Portuguese and sent the Moroccan fans into a frenzy. Morocco ahead 1-0.
In the second half, Portugal tried hard to equalize, but Morocco did not give up. Stoic resistance, armoured defence and lightning-fast restarts threatened to hit Portugal once again, who seemed to look on helplessly.
Finally it was time for the substitutions, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rafa Leao, among others, coming on.
Pepe found the equalising ball on his head from a corner kick but clumsily missed the goal.
In the final minutes a folly by Cheddira, who was already cautioned, cost him his second yellow card and expulsion, risking more damage to his team. But Morocco did not give up, even though they were down to 10, resisted the Portuguese charge and qualified for the first time in the history of football for the semi-finals of a WorldCup!
England Vs France .
Another quarter-final: Match between England and France. It is not just another match, it is a match of great depth. Two of the tournament's strongest national teams come face to face in a kind of 'anticipated final'.

A challenge between two footballing and other powers. Two world powers, two historical faces, two gigantic nations. Two giants of politics, of history, of colonialism (it has to be said, though I will not elaborate here). Two faces of football, two different ways of playing football. Two teams that could potentially have shared a WorldCup Final, and in fact I called this match a sort of 'anticipated final'.
On one side, the England of the young talents Foden, Bellingham, Saka, of the timeless Harry Kane, the England of the Premier League, English-style football; on the other side, France: Mbappè, Giroud, Varane, the France of the great absentees: let us remember that Benzema, Pogba, Lucas Hernandez, Kantè are missing...
On both sides there is so much potential, but so much, one article would not be enough to talk about all the talented players of the two national teams.
The match seems to be at a standstill in the opening minutes, until an absolute flash comes. A thunderbolt, a missile from outside the box fired by Tchouameni pierced Pickford and put France ahead. England 0 - France 1.
England tried and tried again but nothing doing.
Until the referee whistles for a penalty foul!
Penalty for England, from the penalty spot goes Harry Kane who slots the ball in and brings his national team into the tie. England 1 - France 1.
Only a few minutes later a crazy brushstroke by Griezzmann finds him, the man called on to replace the golden ball Karim Benzema, who slots in behind Pickford for the goal that puts France back on top. England 1- France 2.
In the final minutes there was a huge chance for England: another penalty was whistled.
Harry Kane came on from the penalty spot, he knew he couldn't miss, he knew he had the weight of an entire nation on his shoulders. Kane takes off, kicks, ball high over the crossbar. The score remains unchanged and Kane despairs.
The match ended like that, no extra-time hopes for the English. Only joy for the French, who advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Ci siamo! Anche la seconda semifinale della WorldCup in Qatar 2022 è stata decisa! Vedremo sfidarsi da un lato il Marocco, vera e propria rivelazione di questo campionato del mondo, una squadra piena di grinta, cuore, anima e voglia di vincere. Una squadra capace di infrangere ogni record: la prima Nazionale Africana a qualificarsi alle fasi semifinali di un campionato del mondo. Se ve lo avessero detto a worldcup iniziata voi ci avreste creduto? Io non proprio. Ma le sorprese sono belle per questo!
Dall'altro lato invece troviamo la Francia, campione del Mondo in carica. La squadra delle stelle, come spesso viene etichettata. Piena di campioni, talenti giovani e meno giovani. Esperienza e sfrontatezza. Guidati da un certo Kylian Mbappè, trascinati dai gol pesantissimi di Olivier Giroud chiamato a sostituire una macchina perfetta come Karim Benzema.
Come andrà questa seconda semi finale? Non saprei proprio darvi un pronostico onestamente, spero di vedere tanto calcio e di divertirmi tanto. E , forse, potremmo assistere a qualche altra sorpresa :)
Marocco VS Portogallo
Marocco Vs Portogallo è stato un match scoppiettante, deciso a sorpresa da un gol marocchino. Inutile il forcing finale del Portogallo per cercare di pareggiare la partita. L'impresa Marocchina è risultata vincente.

Il Portogallo si presenta alla sfida come la favorita, come era successo anche alle squadre che avevano precedentemente affrontato il Marocco, su tutte spunta la Spagna che è stata eliminata al round precedente proprio dalla nazionale Marocchina.
Il Portogallo parte forte con un mix di giovani e talento pronto a prendersi il palcoscenico ed approdare alla fase successiva; Si prende il lusso di lasciare un campione senza tempo come Cristiano Ronaldo in panchina, ma schiera in campo una batteria davvero talentuosa e promettente. In più può contare sulla panchina per cercare di dare una sferzata alla gara.
Marocco reduce da una prestazione gigantesca con la Spagna, cercherà di fare la partita anche qui. Ed infatti succede proprio questo: uno squillo di
En Nesyri al minuto 43 del primo tempo lascia di stucco i portoghesi e manda letteralmente in delirio i tifosi marocchini. Marocco avanti 1 a 0.
Nel secondo tempo il Portogallo prova in tutti i modi a pareggiarla, ma il Marocco non molla. Resistenza stoica, difesa blindata e ripartenze fulminee rischiano di colpire ancora una volta il Portogallo che sembra guardare inerme.
Finalmente arriva il momento dei cambi, dentro, tra gli altri, anche Cristiano Ronaldo e Rafa Leao.
Pepe si trova la palla del pareggio in testa su sviluppi da calcio d'angolo ma manca clamorosamente la porta.
Nei minuti finali una follia di Cheddira, che era già ammonito, gli costa il secondo cartellino giallo e l'espulsione rischiando di arrecare danni maggiori alla sua squadra. Ma il Marocco non molla, anche se in 10, resiste alla carica portoghese e si qualifica per la prima volta nella storia del calcio alla Semifinale di una WorldCup!
Inghilterra Vs Francia
Altro quarto di finale: Match tra Inghilterra ed Francia. Non è solo un match come gli altri, è un match di grande spessore. Due delle Nazionali più forti del torneo si trovano faccia a faccia in una sorta di "finale anticipata"

Una sfida tra due potenze calcistiche e non. Due potenze a livello mondiale, due volti storici, due nazioni gigantesche. Due colossi della politica, della storia, del colonialismo ( va detto, anche se non approfondirò qui). Due volti del calcio, due modi diversi di fare pallone. Due squadre che potenzialmente avrebbero potuto condividere una Finale di una WorldCup, ed infatti questa partita l'ho definita una sorta di "finale anticipata".
Da un lato l'Inghilterra dei giovani talenti Foden, Bellingham, Saka, dell'intramontabile Harry Kane, l'Inghilterra della Premier League, il Football all'inglese; Dall'altro lato la Francia: Mbappè, Giroud, Varane, la Francia dei grandi assenti: ricordiamo che mancano Benzema, Pogba, Lucas Hernandez, Kantè...
Da un lato e dall'altro c'è tantissimo potenziale, ma tanto tanto, non basterebbe un solo articolo per parlare di tutti i calciatori talentuosi delle due nazionali.
La partita sembra essere in fase di stallo nei minuti iniziali, finchè però arriva un lampo assoluto. Un fulmine a ciel sereno, un missile da fuori area lanciato da Tchouameni trafigge Pickford e porta in vantaggio la Francia. Inghilterra 0 - Francia 1.
L'inghilterra prova e riprova ma niente da fare.
Fino a che l'arbitro non fischia un fallo da calcio di rigore!
Rigore per l'Inghilterra, dal dischetto va Harry Kane che insacca la palla e porta la sua Nazionale a pareggiare la partita. Inghilterra 1 - Francia 1.
Solo pochi minuti dopo una pennellata pazzesca di Griezzmann trova proprio lui, l'uomo chiamato a sostituire il pallone d'oro Karim Benzema, che insacca alle spalle di Pickford il gol che riporta la Francia sopra. Inghilterra 1- Francia 2.
Nei minuti finale occasionissima per l'Inghilterra: nuovo rigore fischiato.
Dal dischetto si presenta Harry Kane, sa di non poter sbagliare, sa di avere il peso di una nazione intera sulle spalle. Parte Kane, calcia, palla alta sulla traversa. Il punteggio resta invariato e Kane si dispera.
La partita finisce così, niente speranze supplementari per gli Inglesi. Solo gioia per i Francesi che approdano alle Semifinali del Torneo.
