Well I don't really like to watch any basketball because it is on at a crazy time of day over here and I feel as though there are too many games. This is what I like about NFL, the season is short and there is only one game per team, per week. I suppose for me getting into English Football would be a wise choice since that seems to be the more popular thing in this part of the world plus some of the games come on a reasonable time of night.
But more to the point of what you are saying... I agree that it is likely a tax write off and also this popularity that they are experiencing right now will be temporary. I too hear people talking about it whereas a couple years ago I think everyone kind of forgot that the league even existed.
I have a tough time remaining an NBA fan because of the amount of games. I rarely watch any of them until the playoffs.
It has to be a write off! It makes no sense for it to exist otherwise.
82 games per season per team. While there are times that I have watched every NFL game on a weekend this simply wouldn't be possible with NBA. I don't even remember how many teams there are in the NBA but this would be over 1000 games per season
I don't know anyone that tries to keep up with all teams, it would be a full time job. Often with my favorite teams I will watch a few of their games only if it happens to come on during a time that I have nothing else going on otherwise I'll just check the box scores and have an overall view of what is going on with MY team, as far as the other teams are concerned I don't really pay them a great deal of attention outside of injury reports and highlights. There's just too much of it. I would totally agree the NBA season is way too much but it makes a ton of money and as I have said many many times before, there is no professional sport on the planet that is about the sport, it is all about the money.
