With this post we continue the series that we have been presenting through our publications, where we already reviewed the results of quarterbacks and running backs, so in the next few lines we will show the most outstanding evaluations of the top 5 receivers (WR) carried out at the NFL Scouting Combine, these tests in this position were carried out on Thursday, March 3 between 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm at the Lucas Oil Stadium in the city of Indianapolis , home of the NFL franchise, Indianapolis Colts. For these tests, 40 wide receivers from different universities were invited, who participated in 6 tests, namely: 40-yard dash | Weight Bench | vertical jump | long jump | Test of the 3 cones | 20 yard dash.

|
As it is already known by all our readers, the 40-yard race is mandatory for all prospects, the runner who obtains the lowest record wins in the series that he has to compete, then he must measure himself with his peers to find the 5 best records. The 40-yard dash represents the distance players must travel after a punt or kickoff. The record of this test is 4.22 seconds, it has not been broken since it was set in 2017 by wide receiver John Ross, belonging to the University of Washington.

The long jump is another of the mandatory tests for all participants, the same as its name implies, it consists of jumping forward starting with the feet, it seeks to measure the starting power and the length of the jump. The record of 12 feet and 3 inches (3.71m) has been in place since 2015, when cornerback Byron Jones of the University of Connecticut set it. This record and the scout's report (elite player tag) influenced him to be chosen in the 2015 draft in the 1st round in 27th place by the Dallas Cowboys.

This test is one of the most demanding of the entire set of evaluations that are carried out in the event, it seeks speed in each repetition, each player must perform the greatest number of repetitions, the amount of weight to lift is 225 pounds (102 kilograms). This test is one of the most skills required to execute it, the same is mandatory for all positions, the greatest concentration and the shortest time of the player are sought in a 20-yard course where 3 cones must be evaded with changes of direction to the right and left of the obstacles and end with a race at the highest possible speed. The record is held by defensive back Jordan Thomas of the University of Oklahoma, who set it in 2018 by leaving the impressive record of 6.28 seconds for the entire course.

It consists of a 20-yard run, where the player must touch with one hand the 5-yard line, then return to the 10-yard line, touch it, and from there to the 15-yard line, touch it and then run to the 20-yard line. It is a very exhausting exercise that requires excellent physical conditions to be in the average time. The record of this test is 3.81 seconds and it is from 2006, the date in which it was imposed by the cornerback of the University of Tennessee, Jason Allen.

We conclude this review with great satisfaction, this due to the great show that the receivers gave in this event with a view to the April draft, as we know wide receivers are the fastest players in American football, their physical preparation is quite complex, since they must perform in speed, power, strength and resistance, they are the second most worn position in this sport. The talent that we observed in this event left us pleasantly impressed, there were in our opinion three players that impressed us, and that we are sure could attract attention in the draft, due to the consistency they had in the tests and the scouts' report on which has weight of 55%, these are: Christian Watson | North Dakota State, Jalen Tolbert | Alabama, and Justin Ross | Clemson , any of these receivers could be chosen in the 1st round of the draft between positions 1 to 20, we are of the opinion that the player Christian Watson could be among the 1 eros 5 positions, since the draft percentile that the scouts report shows places him with a percentage of 99%, in addition, his physical characteristics for the position make him very appealing: Height 1.90 meters | Weight 94 Kg | Extended arm 82.5 centimeters and the best of his measurements are his large hands, each one measures 10.5 inches approximately 27 centimeters, we leave you below the entire profile of this player who could give something to talk about in the April draft.

North Dakota State WR Christian Watson ran an unofficial 4.28-second forty at 6'4-208 lbs.

Pending his official numbers, Watson is expected enter the draft as one of only three receivers to measure in at 6'4+ & earn a 90+ athleticism score in the NGS Draft model.#NextGenScores pic.twitter.com/k0rd7jDDov
