Un resultado que no estaba en los planes de casi nadie, cuando ya todo parecía perdido para el conjunto granate, los jugadores estuvieron a nada de conseguir la hazaña, solo el resultado desfavorable en la Capital del país los deja fuera de su primera final.

Cuando hablo de que fue un resultado que acabó con los planes de más de uno, no solo me refiero al hecho de que le quitó la oportunidad a Zamora de tener la posibilidad de bordar una nueva estrella, sino también me refiero a que más de uno ya había planificado su viaje a Barinas para presenciar la final. También en lo personal a mí me afectó, debido a que no tenía planificado realizar este post así como lo estoy haciendo ahora, ya que mi idea principal era hacerles un resumen de los tres juegos que no había podido compartirles por el hecho de estar publicando sobre lo que fue la participación de Venezuela en el Mundial de Béisbol U23 2022, donde por cierto los chamos finalizaron séptimos al quedar líderes en el grupo de consolación.

Desde mi último post, donde hable sobre los tres puntos que revivieron a Carabobo FC en la lucha por obtener el boleto a la Gran Final, todo empeoró con la derrota en la fecha 4 ante Monagas en Maturín y el empate en la 5 contra Metropolitanos en Valencia, dejando las esperanzas al minímo. Con dichos resultados, sólo una goleada ante Zamora y la no victoria de Monagas metería a Carabobo en la final.

El equipo carabobeño demostró nuevamente su garra y corazón para afrontar un partido complicadísimo por lo que debía lograr, aunque Zamora fue el que tomó la iniciativa en los primeros minutos, Carabobo fue paciente y al 28' Paolo Chacón con un espléndido cabezazo encendió las alarmas en Barinas, 0-1 fue el marcador con el que se fueron al descanso aunque por poco no fue un 0-2, debido a un centro de Kevin Viveros que Breidy Goluz no pudo mandar al fondo de la red.

Al iniciar el complemento los granates dejaron perplejos a propios y extraños, salieron con la convicción de arrollar al rival y lo hicieron, Viveros efectuó un descomunal doblete en tan solo 90 segundos, nadie parecía poder detener al jugador que hacía gala de su apodo, porque realmente fue un «Tren» y en el 52' tras una galopada centró el esférico a Goluz para que marcara el 0-4. El descuento de Zamora llegó por intermedio de Antonio Romero al minuto 87.

Aunque el resultado que tenían que lograr lo consiguieron en el Olímpico de la UCV terminó ganando Monagas SC 0-2, situación que los dejó en el tercer lugar del G4 con 7 puntos, clasificados a Fase 2 de la Copa Libertadores del próximo año.
