(ESP-ENG) El futuro de Carletto. [Opinión]
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
On Saturday 26th, in two days' time, a clásico is played and in two weeks' time another one will be played. The first one corresponds to the final of the Copa del Rey while the second one is the second leg in La Liga. In a recent statement Ancelotti said that in order to win the Cup and the League we had to beat Barcelona. I think that beyond the obvious what the Italian meant is that the challenge ahead is extremely complicated and that “beating Barcelona” will not be child's play. But the question that is going around is the following: if there is a negative result on Saturday, will Carletto remain on the bench?...
Real Madrid in previous years has sinned a lot of impatience, of leaving coaches in the middle of the season and closing with an interim to try to straighten things out, I do not remember a time when that has gone perfectly. The reality is that the pressure on the Italian coach is maximum because the Whites are on the verge of finishing the season empty-handed, in two weeks they could lose everything. Injuries and the lack of an eye-catching and effective game have sentenced them, it is already known that Camavinga will miss the rest of the season and Alaba (at a very low level) will not be available against Barcelona either. But if he loses the Cup, will Florentino sack him? - I don't think so.

Although it may seem utopian, Madrid or in this case Carlo could straighten the course of things. In La Liga, the difference between Barcelona and Los Merengues is 4 points, winning on May 11th would bring them to only one point and waiting for a Culé slip. Well, logically everything depends on winning the day after tomorrow. The debt they left in the Champions League was very big, Mbappe came to this team to win and they left in the quarterfinals in the worst possible way and yes, much of the blame is on the coach but there are players who are not performing at all and against that I do not know how much Ancelotti can do. Maybe things happen behind closed doors, lack of motivation, broken locker room but if a player does not perform on the field many times it is his own fault.
Losing the Copa del Rey would be a mortal blow, a big setback but I still don't see Carletto out of the White House. Maybe I am wrong and they already have a replacement in case that happens but in my opinion it is not clear. Let's see who the candidates could be. As far as I know there are 4 names: Klopp, Xabi Alonso, Raúl and Solari. Already the first, the German, was denied by his entourage claiming that he is very comfortable and happy in the Red Bull academy. I would think that the current Leverkusen coach is the best positioned to take over the position, but if that happens, it will most likely be by the end of the season. Alonso is under contract in Germany until 2026 so Madrid will have to pay a certain amount of money to be able to dispose of the Spaniard.
Raúl is at Castilla and Solari is not currently coaching. Their names have always come up in these cases when you have to look for coaches in a quick and half improvised way because they are known in the team and apparently have a reputation as “fire extinguishers”. Although their fame precedes them as players and they have the affection of the fans, I do not see them sitting on the Merengue bench. In the end, everything we talk about here is speculation and although Ancelotti's project is suffering a significant wear and tear, there is still no 100% certainty that he will leave the job because, I repeat, he can still save the furniture. Will that be enough? - That is the million dollar question.
Cycles expire, they come to an end and that is something very normal that is part of the dynamics of soccer. Carlo Ancelotti is one of the best coaches in the world and in the history of this sport, and also one of the most winning ones, but when something stagnates I think there is little that can be done. Real Madrid needs a restructuring at the squad, mental and technical level. Because yes, they can save the season but the underlying problems will continue.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡Hugs to all, see you next time!
