La copa mundial de Catar no para y este fin de semana vivimos un par de jornadas que realmente tuvieron un mar de emociones porque se disputaron un par de encuentros que eran de los más esperados de esta primera ronda de equipos. Por un lado teníamos a Argentina que buscaba la redención ante una selección de México que además de querer asegurar su pase a los octavos quería ser la encargada de mandar a Messi y compañía a casa bastante temprano. Era un juego que más allá del espectáculo que vimos en cancha tenía un ingrediente extra, la afición. El ambiente que se vivió en gradas fue de los mejores que se ha visto del mundial por lo que ese aspecto tampoco defraudó.

Hay que decir que este partido ha sido uno de los mejores que se han visto en esta fase inicial porque era el choque de dos estilos de juegos totalmente diferentes y porque los protagonistas en cancha eran de lo mejor del mundo en la actualidad. En términos generales tuvimos un fin de semana bastante bueno y es que adicionalmente jugaron Francia, Bélgica, Polonia, la sorprendente Arabia, etc.

Alemania se jugaba la vida ante una España que masacró a un rival que nunca estuvo en cancha pero que al final le terminó ganando al equipo que derrotó a los teutones, Costa Rica venció a Japón en una de esas paradojas del futbol. El partido fue como se esperaba, trabado y disputado, los españoles lógicamente no tuvieron esa libertad que vieron ante los ticos y los alemanes optaban por el juego físico y la incursión por las bandas, de ahí a que Raum y Musiala hayan sido de lo mejor de la tarde. Los de Luis Enrique tuvieron el balón pero eso no significaba peligro para una defensa que estaba solida dirigida por el tanque de Rudiger, de hecho la única en el primer tiempo fue un disparo de Dani Olmos que sacó de manera magistral Neuer.

Los titanes de nuestro continente se veían las caras de nuevo en un mundial y las pasiones se desataron el sábado por la tarde noche. Argentina tenía un solo camino, ganar pero frente de ellos estaba una selección mexicana que pretendía ponerle el trabajo complicado a la albiceleste. Un primer tiempo para el olvido, así lo recuerdo, sin ocasiones, sin juego claro, unos 45 minutos muy flojos de ambos y la verdad no se entendía dada la necesidad que existía. México esperando, echado hacia atrás como si estuvieran ganando 3-0, los del Tata fueron todo menos ofensivos, una selección que no le ha pegado más de tres veces al arco en lo que va del mundial y eso es lamentable, como ya he dicho, a esta México no le he visto nada.

Si hay un equipo que ha sido una total decepción es sin ningún tipo de dudas Bélgica. Muchas personas los ponía o ponen como favoritos y honestamente no entiendo por qué. Si, tienen nombres muy grandes en una plantilla que es muy poderosa pero eso no hace que como equipos funcionen. Yo los llamo la "eterna sorpresa" porque nunca sorprenden y es que si no es por Cuortois esta selección se hubiese comido unos cuantos goles. Contra Marruecos fue un partido en donde reinó la efectividad por que si hubo llegadas de parte y parte pero fueron los africanos quienes supieron aprovecharlas, es más tuvieron más tiros al arco que la propia Bélgica y eso es decir mucho ya.

Si, le ganaron a Canadá pero los norteamericanos jugaron profundamente mejor que ellos en casi todo el partido, tuvieron una y lo hicieron, pero contra Marruecos no podían perder, era inadmisible que eso pasara. No se si es por la falta de un delantero nato, Lukaku está saliendo de una lesión y poco a poco se ha ido reincorporando o porque la parte de creación de juego es bastante nula pero hay algo que ha fallado en los dos partidos y Harzard bueno, no ha pintado como tanto prometió, si bien no está jugando en el Madrid como él quisiera está llamado a ser el referente de este equipo y la verdad nada más alejado de la realidad. Triste el panorama para os belgas que de no conseguir un buen resultado ante Croacia que humilló a Canadá en cuanto a goles, será otra que se vaya temprano a casa.

En otras líneas Francia le ganó a Dinamarca 2-1 con un recital de Mbappé, el futbol que están mostrando los actuales campeones del mundo es muy bueno y efectivo con todo y las grandes bajas que han sufrido. Y Polonia le ganó un duro partido a Arabia quienes sin duda no merecieron perder pero como ya hemos dicho , este deporte no es de merecer, es de quien hace los goles. Los árabes tuvieron grandes ocasiones de gol, jugaron y movieron mejor la pelota y en general se pararon muy bien en cancha, es de esas selecciones que me han sorprendido gratamente, es muy complicado que se desordenen, de ahí lo que cuesta ganarles. Pero ante los delanteros polacos, Lewandowski incluido, quien se estrenó en los mundiales, es muy complicado todo. Veremos como les va contra Argentina y México respectivamente.

Es difícil pronosticar, el fútbol está muy parejo y son los jóvenes quienes tienen un mayor desempeño, a partir de mañana comienza la última jornada y estoy seguro que será una locura total. Se vienen lágrimas, sorpresas y buen fútbol.
