Cada vez falta menos para que esta temporada llegue a su final, el premio de México, de los más esperados por muchos, abrió la puerta para que tan solo quedaran tres carreras para así cerrar un 2023 el cual tuvo un solo dueño: Max Verstappen. El dominio del neerlandés fue descomunal de principio a fin, lo sigue siendo, pero es que ayer volvió a romper un récord, uno que el mismo tenía que es el de 16 carreras ganadas en una temporada. Un número que para mi es una locura y que veo muy complicado de superar por otro piloto. Estoy hablando como si ya no fuese posible que siga aumentando ese número cuando perfectamente Max puede ganar los tres premios que faltan. Pero nada, que esto no le quite emoción a lo que resta porque las otras posiciones de la calcificación si están al rojo vivo y muy cerradas.

El Checo llegaba a su casa con la intención de redimir actuaciones pasadas, Hamilton buscando recortar puntos en la clasificación, Norris seguir en senda de podios que ha conseguido últimamente y la Ferrari tratar de mantener su posición con respecto a Mercedes en la tabla de los equipos. Así que si, los campeones están determinados ya pero el resto aun busca consolidarse y lograr estar en lo más alto de la tabla. Queda Brasil que ahí se espera que los Mercedes puedan sacar algo, las Vegas que es realmente desconocido para todos y Abu Dabi que ya sabemos como es el circuito de Yas Marina. Creo que será un cierre muy bueno y emocionante.

Pero este premio realmente comenzaba el día sábado con la pole position, para este premio no había carrera sprint, cosa que agradezco. Durante todas las prácticas a lo largo del viernes y el mismo sábado el dominio de Red Bull era aplastante y notorio por lo que ya se veía una tendencia de lo que podía suceder tanto en la clasificación como en la carrera. Pero lo bonito de este deporte es que como muchas veces es tan exacto y milimétrico en esa misma medida puede llegar a ser sorpresivo e impredecible. Ya la Q1 comenzaba con sorpresas y es que Norris quedaba eliminado en ella, terminaba de decimonoveno por unas "incomodidades" y errores suyos. Esto era un golpe porque McLaren es de los equipos que más están dando de que hablar.

La Q2 también llegó con otra sorpresa y es que Alonso quedaría decimotercero. El descalabro de Aston Martin ha sido monumental, hace unas cuantas carreras atrás hablábamos de las mejoras que habían implementado para que, por lo menos Fernando Alonso, fuera más competitivo al punto de que logró varios podios y caemos en actuaciones como las de este fin de semana en donde ambos pilotos quedaron fuera de la Q3 y un poco de spoiler también pasó lo mismo en la carrera, ambos carros fuera del premio. Toda la clasificación siempre estuvo dominada ya sea por Verstappen o Hamilton, siempre eran ellos dos hasta que en la Q3 los Ferrari, sin saber mucho el como, lograron el 1-2 para así ubicarse en la primera fila de la parrilla de salida, una sorpresa de las grandes.

Llegamos a la tarde de ayer y como ya saben ambos Ferrari en lo más alto mientras que atrás estaba Verstappen y un sorprendente Ricciardo que con ese AlphaTauri había terminado cuarto en la pole. De quinto Pérez y sexto Hamilton, una fila de mucho interés esta. Luces apagadas y los dos Ferrari se quedaron pero mucho, en cambio los dos Red Bull y Hamilton salieron cual flechas, esto ocasionó que en esa primera curva después de la larga recta del principio ocurriera lo impensable, una choque o colisión entre Leclerc y el que buscaba ser protagonista en su tierra, si, el Checo Pérez. Esto produjo que lamentablemente el mexicano tuviera que retirar el carro por los grandes daños que le ocasionó el toque.

En una entrevista dijo que lo único que quería era ganar pero que va mi estimado, en las primeras vueltas no se ganan carreras. Pecó de ambicioso y terminó fuera del premio en apenas la primera vuelta. Quien era el gran beneficiado de esto? - pues si, Lewis Hamilton que buscaría llevarse la mayor cantidad de puntos posibles para lograr recortar la distancia que lo separa en la tabla de clasificación.

Honestamente fue una carrera tranquila en donde vimos pocos movimientos pero claves para el desarrollo de la misma. Aquel hecho hizo que Verstappen tomara el liderato que más nunca soltaría, Hamilton con una excelente gestión de neumáticos logró mantenerse en lo más alto a pesar de tener a los Ferrari al asecho, Lewis siempre estuvo de tercero y su intención era el segundo lugar para así sumar lo máximo posible y lo otro para aplaudir fue la de Lando Norris quien hizo una estupenda carrera después de haber salido tan atrás en la parrilla. El tema con esta carrera era las estrategias con los cauchos ya que muchos optaron por dos paradas, otros por una sola. Las gomas medias iban mejor o peor dependiendo del carro; Verstappen voló con ellas pero la Ferrari no, es más fueron un desastre para ellos.

Gracias a una bandera roja se equilibró todo y tuvimos prácticamente una segunda carrera. Magnussen se estrelló contras las defensas en un muy duro golpe. Faltaba media carrera y se relanzaba de nuevo todo. Acá es donde vino la brillantez de Hamilton quien con unas gomas medias logró aguantar casi 36 vueltas después de haber pasado a Leclerc. Supo gestionar bien esas gomas y pudo mantener a raya al monegasco. Como dije al final Norris fue el piloto del día, salió de 17 y terminó quinto haciendo un premio antológico el joven británico. Verstappen se llevó el premio de una manera amplia y abrumadora, Hamilton segundo y Charles tercero. Un podio variado con tres equipos distintos.
Thanks to a red flag it all evened out and we pretty much had a second race. Magnussen crashed against the fenders in a very hard hit. Half a race was missing and everything was relaunched again. This is where the brilliance of Hamilton came in, who with average tyres managed to hold on for almost 36 laps after passing Leclerc. Con los resultados de ayer Hamilton se pone a 20 puntos del Checo, Sainz quien terminó cuarto alcanzó la línea de Alonso con 183 puntos mientras que Norris sigue por delante de Leclerc por tan solo 3 puntos. Faltando tres premios todo está muy cerrado, se espera que lo que quede sea más emocionante todavía porque queda mucho por definir, ninguno va a dar nada por sentado ni mucho menos tirar la toalla. La próxima carrera es la semana que viene en Brasil, veremos que nos trae.
With yesterday's results Hamilton is 20 points behind Checo, Sainz who finished fourth reached Alonso's line with 183 points while Norris is still ahead of Leclerc by only 3 points. With three races to go everything is very close, it is expected that what is left will be even more exciting because there is much to be defined, no one is going to take anything for granted, much less throw in the towel. The next race is next week in Brazil, we will see what it brings.

Un campeonato prácticamente sin ningún tipo de lucha y esto quedado reflejado en el campeonato donde el piloto se Países Bajos, Max Verstappen, dobla en puntos al segundo lugar que hasta el momento ocupa el mexicano Sergio "Checo" Pérez. Que por cierto Pérez tuvo una carrera decepcionante con ese choque que le afecto en la primera curva de la vuelta 1.
