(ESP-ENG) Movimiento de fichajes, que tenemos hasta ahora? // Transfer movement, what do we have so far?
Hello friends, good vibes to all.
If there is something that has been moving lately without any doubt has been the transfer market in Europe despite the fact that we have little time since the end of all competitions and also due to the fact that this market is still a couple of months away. It seems that teams started planning for the new season early on by making their respective signings, but we are not talking about just any names or simple players, we are seeing movements of heavyweights going from one team to another which makes us think that some teams do indeed have money in their coffers and that we will most likely continue to see this type of transfers in the remaining months.
Today I am not here to talk about the rumors and what is said in the media, which is quite a lot and the level of accuracy is almost always less than 5%, we are going to talk about what is already confirmed. There are several movements that have occurred but there are a few that are of real weight and those are the ones we are going to talk about, some of them surprised me? - Yes, I am not going to lie, I did not expect at all that they would happen the way they did, and on the other hand, there are the signings that were already very well known and that we have known about for a while now.
The Norwegian beast has a new home and it is nothing more and nothing less than one under Pep Guardiola. This is an exciting signing because even though I am not a City fan I know that what Haaland will do in England will be a real madness, he comes to a much more competitive league than the German one but also will offer much more resistance in the physical sense, we all know how English soccer is, he also comes to a team that for some years has a certain winning DNA and where he will be the figure and face no matter who else may arrive. We already know that Gabriel Jesus will not continue in the squad, so they are looking at the undisputed starter of the city's forward line.
In Borussia Dortmund he scored I think 86 goals in 89 games, he is a real scoring machine and a predator in the area, these numbers are very difficult to match and I do not doubt his abilities but the Premier League is another thing, we will see if he can maintain the brutal level he has. And with his national team he also leaves no room for doubt, 20 goals in 21 games, a pity that he is one of the stars we will not see in the World Cup. The price of Haaland's signing I think is one of the great mysteries, the Transfermarkt people rate him at 150MM but it is said that the value with which he arrived at City is much lower, between 70 and 75MM; if this was so we are in the presence of a real bargain in the market, something that the truth is a little difficult for me to understand but well.
This was one of those moves that impressed me a little, not because of the fact that Mané left Liverpool because it was known that he was not going to continue the remaining year of his contract, but because of the team he ended up with. If before Bayern was a crazy team now with the arrival of the Senegalese I think it is even more armored, he can play both left winger and center forward which makes the former perfectly compatible with Lewandowski, if in the end he stays, or with the latter as he would be the replacement for the Pole if it is confirmed what many already speculate, the departure of Robert to Barcelona, which until they do not see him at the Camp Nou next to Laporta is just that, tales of the road. But, honest opinion? - To see Lewandowski and Mané playing together? - It would be incredible indeed.
Sadio Mané is a top player worldwide, he was a star at Liverpool under Salah and Luis Diaz last season, he scored more than 110 goals in just over 250 games for the Reds (not bad numbers) and he was also a key player in helping his national team to qualify for Qatar. Knowing all that and how decisive and incisive he is in his play it is said that Bayern paid as little as 32MM for him. It is true that he is 30 years old but the level he is at and what he has left to contribute is still quite a lot. The market moves in very strange ways, I think it influences a lot the expectations that you can have of such a player more than the level itself, it has always been like that, but in these times it is more accentuated that. We hope he does well in Germany and continues to win titles because he has plenty of equipment to do so.
After 6 years the Frenchman returns to his former home. There is a curious fact, or maybe not so much, but at that time Juventus sold him for 100MM and now he returns to their ranks for free, if that is not winning, I don't know what is. The thing is that Pogba is not the same great player he was a few years ago, he is only 29 years old, the mature age in soccer, but that player from whom so many things were expected, I don't think he exists so much anymore. Nor should we see what he did at Manchester United in the last season because it was clear that he did not feel comfortable in the team, for some time he did not want to renew and that shows a lot in what you can offer to the game; when there is no motivation or comfort, even if they are paying you all the money in the world you will not play happily.
Seeing his numbers is no business because he is not a goal scorer, we see his magic in the third quarter of the field, he is unbalanced, vertical, he has style while playing, good short and medium distance, vision, but the issue with him is his attitude. I want to believe that being back at Juve, which he chose himself, he will change that mentality and become again the player I described above. We know that he will have a very top striker with a great future like Vlahović, so this partnership looks like it will be very good if there is chemistry and understanding. Hopefully it works because Juventus needs him, lately he has not had the best performance, if you ask me the blame largely I think it is Allegri's, but that's another topic. Juve needs the best Pogba possible.
Mané left Liverpool? - No matter, we bring a real promise. That's right, the Uruguayan Darwin Nunez arrives at Anfield from Benfica after having the best season of his professional career. I started to hear about him in the Champions League, I saw some games and the level of born striker that he has in his blood is undeniable, with the Portuguese in this last season he scored 34 goals in 41 games, crazy. I think that together with Luis Diaz and Salah can make a lot of disaster to their rivals, if their level explodes the way the Colombian did I think we will be facing a pretty scary and above all young striker with a lot of potential and future.
Remember when I talked about expectations in the market? - Well, here is a clear example. For this 23 year old Uruguayan, a bit unknown because he has not played in a big name team, Benfica is not, things as they are, Liverpool paid almost 100MM, 75MM plus 25 in variables. What a way to break the market with a young player that you don't know if he will perform the same and with him they are basing it on what they saw in the most recent season. I'm sure he will but the risk is still high, I understand that it was an exclusive request from Klopp so there is nothing to fear, the way Liverpool play the truth is that this signing fell like a glove. I can't wait to see the new trident in action.
And finally we have the German Antonio Rudiger arriving in the Spanish capital to wear the white shirt of Real Madrid. He arrives from Chelsea for free since he finished his contract with the blues and Florentino Perez did not think twice to take a great central defender. With the arrival of this tower, one of the strong points of this team will undoubtedly be the defense, he will be accompanied by Militão, Alaba and Mendy, for me the four starters or those who should be. While it is true that Carvajal had a good and memorable Champions League final, he is very inconsistent, for every good game he has three bad ones, so in my opinion he is not much of a guarantee.
Rudiger is 29 years old, we are not talking about a future project but he can bring a lot to Los Blancos. He is a player who spent five years at Chelsea, two at Roma and about four at German club Stuttgart, that is to say, he has a lot of experience. Undoubtedly it is a very good signing considering that many of Madrid's shortcomings this past season were in the defensive area, many meaningless goals, so they did well to reinforce that area of the field. There is no reason to think that this team is weak now, we are facing one of the best defenses in Europe, I do not know if I am exaggerating a little but if these four players are starting, plus Courtois in goal will be a very difficult team to beat.
At the moment these are the signings that have made the most noise and have caught my attention. In a month from now we will return to the subject to see how much the market has moved and if the trend of signing big names continues.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en a próxima!
Well my people, that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡A hug to all of you, see you next time!
