Feliz año a todos los amantes del deporte que hacemos parte de este gran comunidad, que sea el mejor año posible para todos. Y así es, ya el 2022 se puso en marcha y con él el conteo regresivo de algunos de los eventos que sucederán en sus días. Es verdad que como el 2021 no será ya que el año pasado fue una locura con todo lo que ocurrió este 2022 también hay motivos para estar emocionados.

Pero según me punto de vista este año estaré más pendiente de dos cosas en comparación con el gran listado que hay: la final de la Champions League y el Mundial de futbol de la FIFA. Si amigos, estamos en año mundialista aunque muchas personas todavía no lo asemejen o simplemente no lo recuerden. La cuestión es que este mundial será un poco diferente al resto o por lo menos a casi a todos los anteriores.

Generalmente se realiza a mediados de año entre Junio y Julio pero esta vez por cuestiones de temperatura en Qatar decidieron hacerlo en el invierno y será el 21 de noviembre hasta el 18 de diciembre. Uno entiende el porque de esa fecha pero según lo veo no creo que sea la mejor época para hacer un mundial, por qué? - pues por el calendario tan brutal y fuerte al que son expuestos los jugadores.

Para nadie es un secreto que la FIFA es manejada por grandes intereses económicos, no tengo pruebas pero tampoco dudas, que son los que hicieron que Qatar fuera escogida como sede (si, hubo un sorteo pero al final no sabemos que tan limpio fue eso). Sin duda, el país del medio oriente no es el más ideal para realizar un mundial y no estamos hablando de discriminación sino que por su ubicación es IMPOSIBLE jugar en los meses de siempre.

Y al final quienes son los que pagan los platos rotos? - esos mismos, los jugadores que ya bastante se han quejado en contra del calendario tan abusivo al que son expuestos por parte de la FIFA y de la UEFA. No olvidemos que en lo que a futbol se refiere hay algunas cosas extras al mundial que se efectuarán este 2022: la Copa Africa, el mundial de Clubes, la Liga de Naciones, las eliminatorias de la Conmebol y Concacaf y la continuación de la Champions League. Como ven, un calendario absurdo. Y todo eso sin contar las respectivas ligas de cada país.

Pero es contradictorio porque si, hay que tener empatía con los jugadores pero al mismo tiempo uno disfruta de todos estos eventos. Como será el caso de la culminación la Champions donde veremos al Chelsea llevándose la copa por segundo año consecutivo o a un nuevo campeón alzar la "orejona".

Y eso mis estimados es lo que la FIFA y UEFA no ve, o mejor dicho, si ve pero se hace de la vista larga y voltea para otro lado porque al final lo que manda es el dinero.

Así que, que es lo que más espero entonces? - pues sin duda el mundial de Qatar pero con todos los jugadores en optimas condiciones. Que al final del día se logre llegar a un entendimiento, por más lejano que se vea, entre jugadores, que son los que ponen su integridad física en juego, y los grandes directivos y cabezas de las organizaciones que manejan el futbol mundial. Y todo esto tiene que ser en pro del deporte, porque un mundial con todas las grandes figuras posibles será beneficioso para todo el mundo pero eso es algo que para algunos es muy difícil de entender, lamentablemente.

So, what am I looking forward to the most? - Well, without a doubt, the World Cup in Qatar, but with all the players in optimal conditions. That at the end of the day an understanding is reached, however distant it may seem, between the players, who are the ones who put their physical integrity at stake, and the great directors and heads of the organizations that manage world soccer. And all this has to be for the good of the sport, because a World Cup with all the great figures possible will be beneficial for the whole world but that is something that for some is very difficult to understand, unfortunately.
