Estamos exactamente a dos semanas del inicio del mundial, algo que estamos esperando todos con muchas ansías y lo primero que estamos viendo son las listas de las selecciones con los convocados. Es verdad que algunos países aún mantienen el secreto y la expectativa, Argentina por ejemplo, pero la gran mayoría ya dieron a conocer a los hombres que defenderán sus respectivas banderas y camisetas en Canadá, Estados Unidos y México. En algunos casos estas listas pueden ser motivo de discordia y debate por parte de los fanáticos porque a lo mejor no cumplen con las exigencias de todos y de eso vamos a hablar hoy quiero empezar con un Inglaterra.

It's true that some countries are still keeping it a secret, Argentina for example, but the vast majority have already announced the players who will represent their respective countries in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. In some cases, these rosters can be a source of disagreement and debate among fans because they might not meet everyone's expectations, and that's what we're going to talk about today. I want to start with England.
La Inglaterra de Tuchel, un tipo que conoce mucho el futbol inglés, sacó su lista de convocados y esta no dejó indiferentes a nadie. Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer, Foden y Maguire son algunos de los nombres que se quedan fuera. Los ingleses de por si no están dentro de los favoritos para llevarse el mundial, de hecho muchos los ponen como la decepción más grande; pero ahora si sumamos todo su presente futbolístico que no es tan bueno con estas ausencias pues cuidado y se cumple las predicciones de la gente. Es verdad que Alexander-Arnold tuvo una temporada floja con el Madrid, mismo caso que Palmer con el Chelsea pero al final son jugadores que puede definir perfectamente un partido, tienen la calidad y experiencia para hacerlo, de ahí la sorpresa. Foden es un tipo super habilidoso en el City, honestamente me costó entender estas ausencias.
Tuchel's England, a man who knows English football inside and out, announced his squad list, and it certainly didn't leave anyone indifferent. Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer, Foden, and Maguire are some of the names left out. The English weren't among the favorites to win the World Cup to begin with; in fact, many consider them the biggest disappointment. But now, considering their current form, which isn't as strong as it could be, these absences could very well confirm people's predictions. It's true that Alexander-Arnold had a lackluster season with Real Madrid, as did Palmer with Chelsea, but ultimately, they are players who can absolutely decide a match. They have the quality and experience to do so, hence the surprise. Foden is an incredibly skillful player for Manchester City, and honestly, I struggled to understand these omissions.

Ojalá y no se queden fuera de manera prematura porque las que le va a caer será monumental, sobretodo al técnico. Lo que si hay que reconocer es el carácter y el pulso de Tuchel para dejar fuera a estos jugadores, ¿un genio o un loco? - veremos. Esta semana también se dieron a conocer los elegidos de Luis de la Fuente para vestir la roja de España y como no podía ser de otra forma también saltaron las alarmas de las sorpresas. Lo primero que vemos a simple vista es que no hay NINGÚN jugador del Real Madrid, por primera vez en la historia. Cuando pensamos con cabeza fría sabemos que el Madrid no tiene muchos españoles en su plantilla y los que tiene si que es cierto que no están en un nivel decente. Huijsen, Asencio, Carreras y Carvajal quizás eran los únicos convocables; los tres primeros tuvieron una temporada realmente tétrica y Carvajal pues las lesiones no lo ayudaron mucho. Por lo que no, no hay sorpresas con este tema del Madrid. Y la segunda sorpresa fue la incorporación de Gavi. Viene de una larga lesión y recuperación pero De La Fuente entiende lo que puede ayudar el medio del Barca, totalmente lo apuesto a Tuchel. Creo que pocos se esperaban su llamado la verdad.
Hopefully, they won't be left out prematurely because the backlash will be monumental, especially for the coach. What we must acknowledge is Tuchel's character and composure in leaving these players out. A genius or a madman? We'll see. This week, Luis de la Fuente's chosen players to wear the Spanish national team jersey were also announced, and, as expected, there were some surprises. The first thing we notice is that there are NO Real Madrid players, for the first time ever. When we think about it rationally, we know that Madrid doesn't have many Spaniards in its squad, and those they do have aren't performing at a decent level. Creería que estas dos selecciones son las que más han dado de que hablar ya que siempre se van a quedar uno o dos jugadores fuera pero el nivel de noticia que supuso estas dos listas de convocados fue muy grande. Pudiéramos hablar de un par de noticias más. Camavinga se quedó fuera de Francia, otro jugador del Madrid. Evidentemente no es casualidad esto, el mundo del fútbol sabe lo endeble que estuvo este club y ahora sus jugadores están pagando las facturas. Deschamps lleva solo 5 mediocampistas y NUEVE delanteros, Está claro que esos 5 están en mejor nivel que Camavinga, incluso Tchouameni quien mejoró mucho en la recta final de temporada. Es imposible competir contra Zaire-Emery o Kante así que tampoco es tan descabellado su ausencia.
I would think these two national teams have generated the most buzz, since there are always going to be one or two players left out, but the level of news surrounding these two squad lists was huge. We could talk about a couple more things. Camavinga was left out of France, another Real Madrid player. Obviously, this isn't a coincidence; the football world knows how fragile this club was, and now its players are paying the price. Deschamps has only called up five midfielders and nine forwards. It's clear that those five are in better form than Camavinga, even Tchouameni, who improved a lot towards the end of the season. It's impossible to compete against Zaire-Emery or Kanté, so his absence isn't so far-fetched.

Y cierro con una noticia que si fue sumamente inesperada. Manuel Neuer, quien se había retirado de la selección hace 2 años tras la Euro del 2024, volvió a ser convocado a sus 40 casi 41 años de edad. Esto pasa por el nivel de alta calidad que se le vio en el Bayern esta temporada y por la irregularidad y lesiones de Marc-André ter Stegen. Nagelsmann no lo pensó dos veces y decidió llamarlo de nuevo al bueno de Manuel para que sea el titular en un Alemania que tampoco llega como una de las favoritas. El tema importante también acá es que Neuer está lesionado, algo menor pero ya se sabe que los amistosos que vienen no los va a jugar para así llegar con lo justo al inicio del mundial. Muy buen post. Me gusta toda la información que trae y sí pienso que Inglaterra ha sacado jugadores de gran nombre. Espero que pueda tener un buen Mundial, sobre todo porque en el pasado siempre tuvo jugadores cracks. Pero no sé qué pasa con esa selección, que debería haber llegado mucho más lejos.
