El día de ayer se terminaron de cerrar los pases definitivos para la disputa de los octavos de final que dan comienzo el día de hoy y como era de esperarse todo esto se dio bajo el factor que ha venido rigiendo este mundial casi que desde sus inicios: las sorpresas. Creo que Catar puede fácilmente quedar en los libros de historia de este deporte como uno de los mundiales en donde los resultados más inesperados han sido la norma y uno en el que donde dábamos muchas cosas por sentado simplemente se han desmoronado por razones que todavía estamos asimilando. Que países como Japón, Marruecos, Australia, Corea del Sur, etc hayan dejado fuera a la supuestas "potencias" del futbol como Alemania, Bélgica, Uruguay y a la misma Dinamarca es algo que hay que analizar a fondo porque es algo poco común a pesar del pésimo presente de estas selecciones. Vamos entonces con los cuatros partidos restantes que les vuelvo a repetir, BASTANTE normales para ser unos octavos de final.

Mucho cuidado con los japoneses en este partido que si fueron capaces de tumbar a dos grandes nombres perfectamente pudieran hacer lo mismo con Modric y compañía. Los europeos tienen un gran equipo la verdad pero a la hora del funcionamiento colectivo es donde se caen, no lo se, tengo mis serias dudas pero voy a apostar por Japón, cuando se lo creen es posible que pasen cosas.

De los octavos de final más claros que tengo a pesar de la comiquita ayer de Brasil ante Camerún. Los sudamericanos a pesar de habernos mostrado uno de los mejores futbol en esta primera ronda me llama la atención lo poco eficaces y contundentes que son, un tímido 2-0 ante Serbia que es la hermana de Polonia en el sentido de que son malas selecciones, muy malas, ante los suizos tampoco pudieron y solo ganaron por la mínima y bueno, el encuentro de ayer que sinceramente no lo vi pero que entiendo que Brasil tuvo para ganarlos muchas veces pero es lo que les digo, mucha generación de ocasiones pero pocos goles. Se espera que Neymar esté listo para este juego y creo que les vendría bastante bien porque una figura así en cancha puede cambiar drásticamente el estado de animo de un equipo.

Corea del Sur estuvo gran parte del tiempo de toda la jornada de ayer eliminada del mundial pero fue gracias a su tenacidad y actitud, esa que le faltó a Uruguay por ejemplo, que lograron en el tiempo de descuento hacer el gol que los volvía a meter de cabeza en los octavos de final. Si me lo preguntan si, los asiáticos merecían más la clasificación que los charrúas y todo por un tema de ímpetu de querer buscar el boleto final. Si Brasil aprieta las tuercas y despliega su mejor futbol Corea no tendrá oportunidad alguna pero visto lo visto y que llegan con la pólvora un poco mojada pudiera ser un partido no entretenido porque el juego de los coreanos no es así pero si uno en donde su orden pudiera chocar con el poder ofensivo de Brasil y ahí todo se pudiera trabar. Pero bueno, acá me voy con Brasil porque está llamada a seguir avanzando si o si.

Contra Alemania si la cosa se vio más equilibrada, de los mejores partidos de este mundial, para llegar contra Japón en donde el primer tiempo fue realmente bueno pero el segundo fue lamentable y patético, merecieron perder? - sin ninguna duda si. Está pasando mucho que ciertas selecciones subestiman a otras y es allí cuando se da la sorpresa que nadie se espera y te apagan las luces, eso siento le pasó a España en los segundos 45 minutos.

Y por último creo que otro de los partidos más parejos que nos va a ofrecer estos octavos de final porque son dos selecciones bastantes promedios a pesar de que una tenga más nombres que la otra. Los portugueses tienen un estilo de juego que a muchos no les agrada y eso es gracias a Dos Santos pero que de igual manera parece que es suficiente para ir avanzando de ronda. Contra Ghana estuvieron a nada de perder o por lo menos a empatar, es verdad que hicieron el trabajo ante Uruguay y cuando tenían que cerrar no lo hicieron por la misma razón que otras selecciones, la conformidad. Al estar clasificada Portugal ayer salió muy tranquila y quiero suponer que no esperaban encontrarse con una Corea que al final sacó las garras para quitarles el partido gracias a una remontada. No veo a los lusos pasando a cuartos tan fácil, ya Suiza demostró ser una selección con un orden y una condición física muy top y de nivel por lo que acá el pronostico será reservado.

El partido de los suizos ayer era el fundamental para sellar su pase y era ante una selección con la cual históricamente han tenido ciertos roces, Serbia. Afortunadamente no pasó nada más allá del futbol y los suizos se llevaron el partido en un juego que fue muy bueno y entretenido. Ayer vi a un equipo que no pasó de correr, que defendió decentemente y que fue muy efectivo, si estos salen así contra el equipo de Cristiano pueden hacerle la noche un infierno. Es que ni siquiera contra Brasil se vieron tan mal, perdieron pero la imagen que dejaron no fue para nada mala. Como ya dije no veo nada claro el ganador en este cruce, pudiéramos pensar que CR7 saldrá modo bestia y resolverá el partido pero eso no se ha visto hasta ahora así que lo que nos queda es esperar.

Antes de comenzar la copa, yo decía que los favoritos iban a pasar y tendríamos unos octavos de locos. Nada de eso, se cayeron varios favoritos y tenemos unos octavos tranquilos.

Japón puede sacarle un susto a Croacia, me encanta el mediocampo que tienen, pero arriba es todo lo opuesto, aquí Croacia no cuenta con nada y Japón demostró que si tiene contundencia.

El resto, para mí ganan los equipos de peso, quizás lo más parejo será en duelo de Portugal y sin embargo deberían ganar.

De hecho de estos 4 partidos el más parejo para mi es del Portugal, siento que Suiza es sumamente incomoda y sobre todo saben correr. Veremos que pasa.
