Otro fin de semana más en donde entramos en la recta final de la temporada y es que solamente quedan dos carreras para darle fin a este 2023, el circuito callejero de las Vegas, el cual será nuevo para todo el mundo y como siempre el Yas Marina en Abu Dabi para cerrar el campeonato. A propósito de este último premio se decía que por cuestiones de seguridad existía la posibilidad de no correrse allá pero la FIA no ve peligro alguno así que tendremos cierre de temporada como se debe. No hace falta ni decir que Max Verstappen sigue en su onda ganadora, ayer se llevó la victoria 17 de la temporada y la 52 de su carrera, poniéndose a una sola de Vettel y logrando algo que muy pocos pilotos van a conseguir en un futuro.

Pero para mi el gran protagonista de este fin de semana fue el de Asturias, el padre de todos, Fernando Alonso quien logró uno de los podios más celebrados, y me incluyo en esa fiesta, de toda la temporada. Aston Martin había comenzado el año pisando fuerte con un Alonso consiguiendo buenos resultados y varios podios, hablo solo de Fernando porque Stroll ni queriendo logra algo bueno; lo que hizo que todas las miradas se tornaran hacia el equipo británico y de dueño canadiense. El detalle es que conforme fueron pasando las carreras el rendimiento iba disminuyendo, ya no era aquel carro competitivo de los inicios y Alonso pasó de ser segundo o tercero a siempre estar de séptimo, octavo y noveno. Pero este fin de semana eso cambió y vimos un renacer de Aston Martin en pleno.

Todo esto comenzaba el día viernes en la pole position, una clasificación que siempre estuvo liderada por Verstappen y algún otro que se colara en los puestos altos, ese otro podía ser Norris, Leclerc, Russell o el propio Alonso. Todo transcurría sin problemas hasta que en el horizonte se empezó a acercar una nube demoledora que tenía todas las intenciones de interrumpir la sesión clasificatoria. Había comenzado la Q3 y pensando en la posible suspensión Verstappen sale primero a buscar el tiempo que le permita estar a la cabeza de la grilla de partida; lo consigue y gracias a aquella maniobra se llevó la pole, de segundo saldría Leclerc y acá es donde vino la sorpresa: tercero y cuarto serían los dos pilotos de Aston Martin, logrando la mejor clasificación del equipo en la temporada.

Eso sucede porque la pole se suspendió faltando unos 4 minutos, de ahí a que la tabla no se moviera con los tiempos que lograron en esa única vuelta que dieron. Ver a Lance Stroll salir P3 es de las cosas más surrealistas que podían pasar pero en honor a la verdad esos carros Aston Martin rindieron muy bien, no se si al nivel de principios de temporada pero si cumplieron los objetivos. La verdad la parrilla de salida no tuvo otras sorpresas, todo fue muy estándar por lo que podíamos pensar que veríamos a una salida el día domingo bastante entretenida, y bueno, la verdad es que si, por lo menos fue una que dio para hablar mucho.

Lo que veríamos sería caos, caos del bueno incluso antes de empezar la carrera. Primero la exhibición de mala suerte de Leclerc. Impresionante como un piloto pueda tener tan mala fortuna, es hasta de película las cosas que le pasan. Vuelta de formación y pierde el control de su carro por una problema mecánico y con ello se queda fuera del premio, un tipo que terminó segundo en la pole. Otro desastre más después de una decente pole position. Llegaba el momento de la partida, se apagaban las luces y en esa primera curva un incidente entre 3 carros, Albon, Magnussen y Hulkenberg quien es el que da el toque. Los dos primeros fuera de la carrera y sin haber empezado a correr ya teníamos tres abandonos.

Después de la bandera troja y que todo se pusiera a tono, se relanzaría de nuevo la carrera y esta vez si tendríamos premio. Hay que decir que las salidas de los dos Aston Martin fue bastante mala, les permitió a tanto a Norris como Hamilton sobrepasarlos y con eso bajaron un par de puestos. La diferencia fue que Alonso supo aguantar el ritmo y rápidamente se puso por delante de Lewis para así sostener la posición. Al otro que hay que reconocer es a Lando Norris quien salió sexto y en nada se puso de segundo incluso en capacidad de pelearle por momentos la punta a Verstappen. Esto confirma el buen estado en el que siguen los McLaren y sobretodo sus pilotos. Interlagos es un circuito muy entretenido porque es uno que permite muchos traspasos, tiene muchas zonas de adelantamientos lo que hizo que por instantes se dieran varias luchas muy dignas del circuito.
After the troja flag and everything got back on track, the race would restart again and this time we would have a prize. Las estrategias fueron determinantes, es verdad que la carrera por momentos fue monótona pero lo que determinó un poco todo fue la forma en como llevaron las gomas. Salieron con blandas para después irse con medias y dependiendo de que tan bien gestionaran se podía hacer una segunda parada para terminar de nuevo con blandas. Los dos primeros, Max y Norris se alejaron mucho, el ritmo era impresionante por lo que el foco de la carrera se concentró entre Pérez y Alonso quienes nos regalaron uno de los mejores momentos de la temporada. El mexicano venía cuarto después de subir unos cuantos lugares, Alonso tercero aguantando desde la vuelta 30 de las 71 del circuito. Estaba claro que el Red Bull tenia más ritmo pero acá privó la experiencia y si, el Aston Martin como dije también estuvo bien el fin de semana.

Las últimas 15 vueltas fueron una locura, era una batalla campal en la pista entre dos grandes pilotos que entregaron todo. Fue tal así la rivalidad que Pérez sobrepasa a Alonso en la 70, todo parecía escrito pero en la vuelta final gracias a una gran maniobra de Fernando recupera el tercer lugar y el podio que tan esquivo se le estaba haciendo. De verdad es que esas últimas vueltas estuvieron llenas de adrenalina pura, esa es la Formula 1 que queremos ver, una llena de deportividad, buenas batallas en pista y que haya mucha competitividad de principio a fin. Verstappen primero, Lando con otro podio de segundo y el gran Fernando Alonso de tercero.
The last 15 laps were crazy, it was a pitched battle on the track between two great drivers who gave everything. Despues de los resultados de ayer y a falta de dos carreras la lucha entre Hamilton y Pérez sigue al rojo vivo y entre el cuarto y el septimo la diferencia es de tan 28 puntos. Decir que todo está escrito es mentira, creo que en Las Vegas y en Abu Dabi veremos mucha entrega e intensidad, hay muchos puntos en juego todavía.
After yesterday's results and with two races to go the fight between Hamilton and Perez is still red hot and between fourth and seventh the difference is only 28 points. To say that everything is written is a lie, I think that in Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi we will see a lot of commitment and intensity, there are still many points at stake.

Excelente carrera de Fernando Alonso, una defensa muy mágica y a pesar de perder el tercer lugar no se rindió y logra adelantar a Sergio Pérez para recuperar el podio. Un final bastante cerrado entre estos dos y sin lugar a dudas es la mejor lucha de la temporada y del Gran Premio de Brasil, esa pelea fue que le dió emoción a la carrera.

Así fue amigo. Mucha experiencia se vio en esas últimas 10 vueltas casi donde tuvo que aguantar al Checo que también tenía ganas de resarcirse después de lo de México. Creo que si no hubiese sido por esto esta carrera hubiese sido más del montón.

Si realmente el atractivo de esta carrera fue la pelea final entre Alonso y Checo, una carrera más de lo mismo de lo que Sido la mayor parte de la temporada de la F1, un dominio de Max Verstappen.
