Seis carreras ganadas de manera consecutiva para el neerlandés y doce para el equipo de Red Bull, lo cual supone un récord en la Formula 1, son algunos de los números que dejaron el circuito Hungaroring en Hungría este fin de semana. La realidad, tal cual la hemos descrito todas las semanas de carreras, es que Max Verstappen no tiene rival alguno en esta temporada, de las últimas seis ganadas en tres de ellas la diferencia con respecto al segundo puesto ha sido más de 20 segundos, esto en términos de carrera es una barbaridad absoluta. Y en las otras tres pues la diferencia si es menos pero eso no quiere decir que el control no la hay tenido, al contrario una vez se tomó el atrevimiento de entrar a pits por gomas blandas y buscar el récord de la vuelta más rápida prácticamente en la ultima vuelta, en ese nivel está.

La realidad es que podios en ambas carreras es algo para tomar en cuenta y reafirma lo que digo, Norris es de las promesas de este deporte, de los mejores pilotos que hay pero con un carro que no era tan competitivo, hicieron ajustes y allí están los resultados. Así que si, el talento es esencial pero tener un buen monoplaza es superlativo.

Hubo un par de cosas interesantes en la pole position del día sábado. La primera es la actuacion de los Alfa Romeo, increíble como ambos pilotos lograron avanzar hasta la Q3 incluso con Zhou Guanyu llegando a liderar en la Q1. Estas sorpresas son las que hacen que la Formula 1 pueda llegar a ser tan competitiva a veces, solo a veces. El punto es que al final quedaron quinto y séptimos respectivamente, sin dudas lo mejor de ellos en la que va de temporada. Lo segundo es que confirmamos lo que les comentaba antes, el presente de McLaren es especial y para ellos estoy seguro de que están en un sueño, no hicieron podio los dos pilotos porque Hamilton y Verstappen realmente volaron pero tanto Piastri como Norris están dando de que hablar para bien.

No hay por lo menos un par de carrera seguidas en donde ambos equipos hagan un buen trabajo, siempre pasa algo con algunos de sus pilotos. Y lo último es la gran clasificación que hizo el británico de Mercedes Lewis Hamilton ganándole la posición a Verstappen por apenas 0,003 segundos, eso es un tiempo casi que imperceptible pero que le bastó al múltiple campeón mundial para llevarse la pole. En lo personal no me esperaba que eso sucediese pero bueno, sabíamos que en la carrera íbamos a tener una primera fila como aquellas hace un par de años que nos dieron tanta emociones.

Llegábamos al domingo con la expectativa de que tendríamos una carrera movida y emocionante pero para mi no lo fue, de hecho me atrevería a decir que fue de las más aburridas de lo que va de temporada. Se apagaban las luces y salían los pilotos, una salida que fue un verdadero desastre para Hamilton quien en un dos por tres perdió el liderato para caer a la cuarta posición. Sus verdugos? - Verstappen y los dos de McLaren. Honestamente no que se le pasó a Hamilton acá, pareciera que salió dormido y descuidado porque el arrebato fue sumamente fácil, es decir, no es que hubo una batalla en pista ni nada por el estilo, simplemente fue un adelanto y ya está. Creo que en esos movimientos el de Mercedes perdió la carrera, por más temprano que hay sido todo.

De acá en adelante hay que decir que todo fue muy monótono y lineal, no hubo grandes cosas en pistas más allá del abandono de los dos carros de Alpine en un mismo evento en la primera curva. Max se consolidó en la primera plaza y de ahí nadie lo pudo bajar, ni siquiera acercársele, los McLaren también tenía un ritmo endemoniado que les permitió estar siempre en esa segunda y tercera plaza, Hamilton a pesar de todo nunca dejó de luchar, siempre estuvo a la caza de los McLaren esperando el momento para atacar y recuperar posiciones y finalmente el Checo Pérez quien tampoco había tenido unas buenas actuaciones el día de ayer realmente voló en ese circuito, por momentos fue hasta más rápido que propio Verstappen.

Pero cuando les digo que no hubo más nada llamativo es porque así fue, quizás lo más interesante que se vio fue esta batalla entre Pérez y Piastri para que el mexicano se acercara más y más al podio, cosa que la final conseguiría. De resto fue una carrera plana en donde las posiciones no se movieron mucho. Lo más destacable creo que fue Russell quien salió de decimoctavo como habíamos mencionado y terminó de sexto, la verdad fue una brutal carrera la del más joven de Mercedes después del despropósito del día sábado. Lo más decepcionante fue Hamilton quien pudo mantener esa cuarta plaza pero que después de haber perdido la punta no creo que sea lo mejor para Mercedes.

Ese lugar lo tomó McLaren, la cosa es que hay que ver que tanto dura ese nivel. Verstappen sigue en lo más alto de la tabla de clasificación con 281 puntos y muy sinceramente allá arriba va a terminar, Pérez de segundo con 171 y Alonso con 139 puntos respectivamente. Interesante que Hamilton se puso a solo seis puntos del asturiano por lo que en la próxima carrera es posible que veamos a Lewis escalar a la tercera posición si Alonso no hace un buen premio.

La conclusión es que Max Verstappen sigue estando unos cuantos niveles por encima del resto, incluso en las carreras más aburridas saca una ventaja considerable y gana sin problemas; para mi ya es el campeón mundial nuevamente, no veo formas de que esa situación se revierta. La próxima carrera será este fin de semana en Bélgica en el muy entretenido circuito de Spa-Francorchamps.
