Finalmente los días han llegado, esos en los que las tardes están adornadas por los partidos de la Champions League. Fueron unos meses sin la competición del fútbol europeo pero afortunadamente ya eso llegó a su final con la primera tanda de los octavos de final. Entre el martes y el día de ayer presenciamos 4 partidos en donde vimos al Real Madrid, Manchester City, PSG, Bayern, entre otros, volver al ruedo con la intención de coronarse con la tan ansiada orejona. Pero, ¿cual fue mi sorpresa? - que no vi mucho fútbol que digamos. Si, ganó el Madrid, ganó el PSG y perdió el "todopoderoso" Bayern pero el nivel en cancha fue pobre, por decir lo menos.

El Madrid llegaba a Alemania, al Red Bull Arena para verse las caras contra el Leipzig, un equipo modesto que está en la quinta posición de la Bundesliga y que se clasificó a los octavos quedando cómodamente de segundo en su grupo. De frente tenían a un Madrid que había dado una cátedra de juego contra el Granada el fin de semana por lo que las expectativas eran muy altas. Los blancos llegaban casi con el mismo equipo salvo la ausencia de Bellingham y la reincorporación de Nacho como central. La realidad es que ese equipo del martes no fue ni la sombra de lo visto el sábado, una oncena descompensada en defensa y que por la presión que le imponía el club alemán fue incapaz de generar algo de fútbol.

¿Por qué ganó el Madrid entonces? - por tres razones. Porque el Leipzig fue incapaz de concretar sus llegadas, 9 para ser específicos; porque Lunin tuvo una actuacion de 10 deteniendo esos nueve remates al arco y porque a los alemanes les anularon un gol que era completamente válido. Y digo esto porque los merengues no generaron nada de juego, fue un partido gris de Vinicius que por cada buen partido tiene 3 malos; y porque en el medio campo no tuvieron la capacidad de controlar los tiempos. El juego de Bellingham, o la ausencia de él mejor dicho, al Madrid le hizo una tonelada de falta. No hubo fútbol, el rival les jugó de tu a tu con una posesión empatada al 50% y que gracias a una genialidad de Brahim se pudieron llevar el triunfo. Un Madrid pobre que difícilmente ilusione si sigue jugando así en Champions.

Ayer en el parque de los príncipes el PSG de Mbappe se vio las caras contra la Real Sociedad. Una Real que deslumbró la temporada pasada pero que en esta le está costando un poco más. Comenzaba el partido y sorprendentemente vimos como los dirigidos por Imanol Alguacil buscaban ahogar la salida francesa a punta de una presión alta que por casi todo el primer tiempo incomodó de sobremanera al PSG. Siempre lo he dicho y lo sigo manteniendo, para mi el PSG es un equipo de segunda, no debería de ser considerado un grande de Europa porque sencillamente no lo es. El tema con el partido de ayer es que los españoles en su rol defensivo estuvieron perfectos (hasta la llegada del gol), pero a la hora de generar ocasiones y gol, deficientes, no remataron nunca.

Y si, esa funcionalidad les estaba surtiendo efecto porque los parisinos no encontraban el camino, les repito, estaban incómodos en su propio campo carentes de ideas y ataques; a ver, nada nuevo en ellos si les soy sincero. Lo único a destacar es el factor individual y es que un Dembele o el mismo Mbappe son jugadores que te pueden cambiar el curso de un juego rápidamente, que fue lo que terminó ocurriendo. Una vez llegó el gol del 7 el estado de ánimo cambió y la Real se vino abajo regalandoles prácticamente el partido a los de Luis Enrique. No veo al PSG sólido ni consolidado, ayer les costó romper el cerrojo, fue gracias a un balón parado. El sueño de este equipo junto al de sus dueños es ganar la Champions pero honestamente cada vez que los veo jugar ese sueño parece que está cada vez más lejos.

Pero lo más lamentable de todos es que este equipo con Musiala, Sané, Muller, Kane, Kimmich, etc, no remataron al arco ni una vez, se fueron en cero. Si esto no es una crisis, diganme ustedes que será. Otra de las cosas curiosas es que Tuchel lleva 10 derrotas en 43 juegos mientras que Nagelsmann, el técnico anterior, esas mismas 10 derrotas las consiguió en 84 partidos. Esto nos dice que el problema quizás no era el técnico sino la plantilla o el modelo que ya se agotó.

Muchos hablan de que la "maldición Kane" ha caído sobre este equipo y por más gracia que eso cause sabiendo todo el contexto, la verdad es que el Bayern tiene como 3 temporadas jugando de este manera, de hecho han sido las últimas tres veces en las que han sido eliminados en estas instancias por lo que no creo que sea algo casual. Algo tiene que cambiar en este equipo, la inestabilidad es muy grande, antes daba respeto y miedo llegar al Allianz, ahora estoy seguro que no es así. Otro club más al que se le perdió el fútbol de vista.
