Esta semana en la penúltima fecha de la liguilla de la Champions se vieron varias cosas interesantes que deja el miércoles de la semana que viene como un día al que vamos a tener que estar pendientes de lo más mínimo para ver quienes son los 8 primeros clasificados y los 16 restantes que jugarán los playoff para acceder a la siguiente ronda. Todo esto hizo que las posiciones quedarán sumamente apretadas al punto de que es imposible predecir qué equipos pudieran pasar y que no, incluso creo que el gol average será crucial en algunos casos. Y para que eso sucediera tuvieron que darse varios resultados. El primero y quizás el más llamativo fue la derrota del Manchester City por 3-1 ante el modesto Bodø/Glimt de Noruega. Un equipo que está en el puesto 28 con apenas 6 puntos fue capaz de doblegar la mente de Guardiola y sus jugadores top. Haaland, Foden, Cherki y un Rodri que se hizo expulsar no pudieron contra el contraataque de los noruegos jugando en temperaturas gélidas. La cosa es que este "bache" de los ciudadanos no es nuevo, perdieron el fin de semana el derby de Manchester contra el United por 2-0. De los últimos 5 partidos en la Premier llevan apenas 1 solo ganado mientras que acá en Champions están de 11 con 13 puntos. La realidad es que el City no está jugando bien, no veo a un equipo con la profundidad de hace unos años, tanto que el martes hicieron apenas 1 solo cambio.

Les dije que el City tiene 13 puntos y está decimoprimero, pues el PSG también tiene 13 puntos y están de SEXTOS, todo por el gol average. Los actuales campeones tropezaron de visitantes contra el Sporting de Lisboa por 2-1 en un partido en donde la eficacia está bien mostrada. Los dirigidos por Luis Enrique hicieron un gran partido, tuvieron todas las oportunidades de hacer los goles (22 remates) pero no hubo suerte. Los portugueses llegaron 4 veces e hicieron dos goles de los cuales el segundo es responsabilidad directa del portero Chevalier. Es una caída inesperada porque los franceses de verdad jugaron mucho mejor que su rival. Con estos resultados el Lisboa se pone con los mismos 13 puntos que tienen la mayoría de los clubes.

Para fortuna de los fanáticos terminó ocurriendo lo segundo y es que el martes golearon al Mónaco por 6-1. Ciertamente se vio otra cara del equipo en donde TODOS los señalados hicieron goles (Vinicius, Bellingham) y hasta Mastantuono quien hizo francamente un gran partido. Si que es verdad que los franceses pueden que no sean un gran rival pero aquello sirvió para calmar un poco las aguas a la espera del partido del fin de semana contra el Villarreal que en teoría es uno complicado. Al final la presión de la gente hizo efecto. No hay mucho que decir de ese partido más allá del dominio absoluto de los merengues.

Y para finalizar el Barcelona ganó también ayer al Slavia de Praga por 2-4 en un partido que por momentos se les complicó a los culé pero con buen fútbol y grandes goles de Fermín y Olmo lograron sacarlo adelante. Este equipo cuando se decide a jugar bien, lo hace sin problemas. La única mala noticia es la lesión de Pedri que lo tendrá fuera por 1 mes aproximadamente. Actualmente el Barca está fuera de los primeros 8, están novenos con, si. 13 puntos también. El tema no es que no vayan a clasificar, el tema acá es si tendrán jugar esa eliminatoria extra o no. Como ven, hay demasiados equipos con 13 puntos o muy cercanos por lo que el miércoles que viene será una locura lo que se vivirá en la Champions. No había mucha fe con este nuevo formato, pero sin dudas fue un gran acierto para el espectáculo.
