La semana pasada se definieron los clasificados para lo que será la próxima etapa de la Champions y que viendo por encima la forma en cómo quedaron distribuidos los equipos podemos sacar varias conclusiones al respecto. De los 8 equipos que avanzaron de forma directa cinco de ellos son ingleses, un español, un alemán y un portugués. Queda más que demostrado que la Premier League es la mejor liga del mundo, el dominio que tiene sobre los demás es abismal al punto que el Tottenham, que por lo general está un escalón por debajo de los grandes se coló dejando por fuera al actual campeón, PSG y al mismo Real Madrid.

Otra de las cosas a destacar de esta liguilla es lo pareja en lo que a puntos se refiere. Si vemos la tabla entre el tercer puesto y el octavo hay apenas dos puntos de diferencia (LIV con 18 y el City con 16); esto puede ser muy bueno pensando en lo que se viene. Los otros clubes que lograron acceder, más allá de los ingleses, fueron el Barcelona, Bayern y el Sporting de Lisboa. Entre las sorpresas que se quedaron por fuera hay varias que llaman la atención. El Napoli y el Villarreal, equipos que están en la parte de arriba en sus respectivas ligas, tuvieron un desempeño terrible, sobretodo el "submarino amarillo" que apenas cosechó 1 punto de 24 posibles, es decir, no ganó ni un solo partido. Por su parte los italianos se quedaron con 8 unidades, ganando 1 de sus últimos 5 encuentros. Considero que la Champions está muy apretada, ya a los grandes no hay que considerarlos como intocables, son equipos que no están en su mejor momento. Los ocho primeros tendrán febrero para descansar, viendo la cantidad de lesiones que se están dando mientras menos se juegue mejor. A los de playoff pues la cosa se complica, dos partidos más que muchos quisieron evitar. Lo unico seguro es que el gran favorito hasta ahora es el Arsenal.
