Great day - long walk - Actifit: February 20 2021
It was a lovely day for a long walk. The began bright, but by the time I went out there was cloud cover, giving the whole world had a soft glowing appearance. I was so sad to have missed the bright sunshine! But I walked for a very long time just enjoying the trail and an audible book.
And of course I regularly stopped to take photos. This first one is of a cyclist on the snowy trail.
I love walking down that long long trail.
I arrived at the lake and of course it’s still a small city, covered with ice fishing houses and trucks and snowmobiles.
But my favorite thing on the lake is the docks, waiting for the ice to melt and the boats to return.
Sun was setting. Time to return home!

Sun behind thin cloud covering gives a lovely soft glow to the surrounding wooded area.
Not so sure about all the hub hub on the ice, prefer to have it vacant and peaceful as reflected in your warm months. Always enjoy seeing your excellent photography, telling the story of months through change in weather @jayna

Thank you so much, @joanstewart! Yes, the seasons are quite powerful and prominent here. They pretty much all come in like a lion, as the old saying goes. But they go out like a lion as well.
The city on the ice is something to behold, and I can't help gawking at these people who choose to be out in the cold not just for a brisk walk but for hours or days!
If one wants unadulterated ice, we do have over 10,000 lakes in our state and most are just ice deserts without any fishing houses this time of year. :-)
Perhaps finding a more secluded ice patch to fish would be more rewarding, so many packed on that lake I am sure the fish swim below gawking...
It is the scenery with snowfall for walking that would attract me more than camping out on ice Jayna.
