Sublime and Beautiful Sunday - Actifit: October 3 2021
We took a trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum this weekend. The weather report was threatening rain but we had tickets for a set time for four of us, and we decided that we would make the best of it.
And we were glad we did! For most of our excursion, the weather was just fine! And the arboretum is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. All the different gardens display whatever is on season, and it’s really quite breathtaking.
Sometimes a cloudy day is great for bringing out the vibrant colors in flowers!
They had some nice autumn displays, and there was also a display of hilariously dressed scarecrows.
One of the most beautiful spots was the rose garden. There’s a beautiful gazebo there where you can go and sit for a little rest.
At this point in our excursion, we were seeing some fairly ominous clouds. But we wanted to see some fall color, so we moved on away from the main buildings and shelter. I was pretty sure I heard a clap of thunder, but we kept going.
And yes, you guessed it — the rain started coming down! We all fortunately had long sleeves and hats, and a few had jackets. I captured this picture of my sister and brother-in-law — @preparedwombat - making their way through the rain!
After we got to the shelter of the car we took a drive through some areas we hadn’t yet seen. We saw an outdoor wedding that was supposed to be taking place in a grove of trees. But it was pouring rain at this point, and all the members of the wedding party were huddled in groups under the trees!

Beautiful, I loved all the images especially the ones that look like they are preparing for Haloween. Also, the gentleman sitting on the rock and probably you and your son sitting on a bench. I can see how it's raining when you took the last shot. A Lovely Place that reminded me of Auburn National park.

Nice place. Nice touch the labelled some of the plants to give visitors some lessons in the names of them.
