Market Friday - IKEA, the perfect home - Actifit: January 28 2022
Where better to get your daily steps on a cold winter day tan IKEA? You can browse all the wonderful displays and imagine that your home will always be so clean, so serene, once you decorate in just that way!

Don’t you love feeling like you get to just walk through people’s homes, selecting this and that for your own decor? Not to mention, you can imagine yours will always be this perfect!
Closets would be so great if we only owned 5 items. Am I right?
It was kind of funny because my daughter and I had a great outing at IKEA, but we weren’t really shopping for anything in particular. So we just enjoyed walking through, hobnobbing about lighting fixtures, color schemes and furniture styles, all for fun.
It did give me a hankering to re-do a few spaces in my house, and maybe freshen up my kitchen lighting, which is a little dated to be honest.
Would you ever go for some flamboyant color in your house? Lavender, maybe? How about pink?
Okay, last few pictures of my Market Friday IKEA tour. Not every space in IKEA is staged like a home going on the market!

Nice way to enjoy an outing, what is new on offer, lovely with a daughter I would imagine, husbands and sons run to the hills before doing this!
Relaxing together over lunch reminiscing all seen during a stroll in a warm environment considering the cold season up North.

Shopping is not my forte either, perhaps if I had a daughter things may have been different 😄
If you had a daughter, it would have been different, Joan... I can almost guarantee you. There is something comforting enjoying the company of another woman who is part of you. But, you have daughters-in-law.

I have a daughter-in-law who is as allergic to shopping as I am, perhaps my son chose well! Much happier on the beach or in the bush 🙃

It wasn't staged, the last three photos, and yet, they were still perfect! :)) I love wandering around like that. It is the perfect fix for an otherwise nothing day.
My daughters and I look at each other and will say: Want to redecorate the house? That means an Ikea/Haverteys Furniture or some other fun space. It is fun to just looking, with no agenda, not even a whim to buy. We have fun with it and also get some good ideas to take home with us. When I lived in San Antonio, we used to go to the model homes when they were building new neighborhoods and they would have it all set up so perfect. It finally occurred to me that they scale down the furniture so the rooms look bigger. Bedrooms without dressers. closets with no clothes... living rooms with only a couch and chair. Well, not quite, but, you get the picture.
We love to wander and just look! How fun for you and your daughter! I like the lunch idea! Thank you for joining #MarketFriday!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
